Juice Shelf Life?
I'm asking because I just picked up some juice from a local store and it has a Born date of 12/22/2015.

My wife hates it so I'm on a quest for a true menthol flavor for here. I will end up using it up but am wondering if this stuff can go bad sitting in a bottle for well over a year.

Juice is like a good red wine - the older the better - especially dessert flavours like custard - I wish I had juice that old. Just store it in a cool dark place - after my rant yesterday regarding vaping kits I am looking for a place like that to put myself for a week or two[Image: smile.gif].

It depends on the flavor, and really on the brand too. I had a menthol tobacco juice from Real Extracts that was over a year old and it was awesome, but I've also had juices that tasted terrible after three months. From my experience they usually get better with age up to a few months, then after that it's hit or miss.

RE: Juice Shelf Life?
The less the bottle has got warm and the less it has been exposed to air the more likely it is to be as it was when it was bottled.

This may, or may not be a good thing. Being bottled at the end of December, it's just 6 months old so should be fine. If it is nearly empty and has been kept warm the it is likely to have deteriorated some. But should still be tapeable. I've made juice that took 6 months of steeping before it stopped tasting foul.

As to shelf life. In the cold and dark then two years should be fine. It also depends to an extent on the age of the ingredients when it was mixed but since most juice makers get through a lot of ingredients they are likely to be pretty fresh.

I have loads of flavours that are more than two years old and I'd not hesitate to use them.

RE: Juice Shelf Life?
I know when I first started I used to buy juices out of the store's clearance bin (yes, because I'm a cheap-azz). Some of the bottles were two years old! Seemed like they tasted fine. No idea at all how they were stored there either.

RE: Juice Shelf Life?
Only a few years ago someone was telling me that beer had an expiry and best before date...back when I use to drink, I never had beer in the house long enough to ever worry about it...now with vaping a pattern is emerging...don't think I'll ever have to worry about expiry dates...that said, I'd probably mix and combine flavours if I suspected any juice was turning... a cool dry place is probably all you need....just remember to SHAKE it before using it Smile

RE: Juice Shelf Life?
I haven't had any juice go funky due to shelf life. I've had a few bottles that were more than two years old from the B&M clearance bin. I don't know what they tasted like when new, but they weren't rancid when I got to them.
