Jeff's Mixing Adventure
So, I have received (or already had) all of the basics I need to start mixing my own eJuice. I have a gallon of 80VG/20PG/0mgNic base liquid, Syringes with blunt tip needles, Nitrile gloves, labels, notebook and flavor extracts. The flavor extracts I have right now are: Apple Pie, Banana, Black Cherry, Blueberry, Candy Cane, Cinnamon, Green Apple, Pear, Raspberry, Strawberry, Triple Apple, Vanilla, Watermelon and Wild Cherry.

I will start mixing up some soon. I still have 3 bottles of 52ml .3%Nic eJuice to go before I finally get myself down to zero nicotine. So that gives me time to sort out which flavors or combination flavors I want to mix up first.

Either the PG or VG will wipe them off if you don't
Not sure if there is a better method but that's what I do

Right now Michele is coating the syringes with some nail polish for me, Thanks to Bob's comment and Don's post Getting Started With Mixing.

More to follow in Jeff's Mixing Adventure.

Good luck Jeff! it looks like you have plenty of different potential recipes there.. don't do what I did and accidentally put 10x too much Nic in your first batch Tongue

RE: Jeff's Mixing Adventure
What you see in the first picture: The white basket has unopened 52ml bottles of eJuice, my back up vape set up and various supplies (coils, Q-Tips, small tool kit). The 'lazy susan' has flavor extracts on the bottom and eJuice on the top. The jar on the bottom level of the lazy susan is to hold base liquid so that I can deal with it in an easier fashion than the 1 gal bottle. The 1 gal. bottle of base liquid 80VG/20PG/0mg Nic.

What you see in the second picture: A box of nitrile gloves that I pulled out of my jeep supply set up. I will not be mixing any nicotine, but still want to use the gloves. The red notebook so that I can record all of my mistakes and successes. The blue basket has empty bottles and syringes.

NOTE: I will not be using nicotine. Everything that I mix will be 0 mg/ml (Nic Free).

I will be using a Ball Mason Jar (1/2 pt. /236 ml) for containing / mixing the base liquid, as it will be much easier to deal with than the whole 1 gal. jug.

Now here is the trick to all of this. Michele does not want me to overload her kitchen, with my vaping supplies. I want to use the top of the freezer as it is out of reach for the grandkids and it is easily accessible while working at the table. I live in an apartment and do not have a garage or hobby room to set up my own little area.

Nice and neat Jeff - mine is a shambles I'm afraid - and I don't have anything like as much.

RE: Jeff's Mixing Adventure
I finally got around to mixing a bottle of eJuice, since my supplies have arrived. I still have 2 bottles (52ml) of .3% nicotine and 4 bottles (52ml) of 0mg/ml nicotine. Anyways, Michele took photos so we could see how well I did or if we would keep the photos for 'those embarrassing moments' collection.

I laid out everything I would need and had my recipe up on the laptop screen with eJuice Me Up.

Then I had to put my blunt tip needles and syringes together and get to mixing. I had 14ga. tip and 16ga. or 18ga. would have been a lot easier when working with the flavor extracts.

Adding the base last was much easier than adding the different flavorings that I mixed up.

And whoala....my first bottle of eJuice.

IF YOU DO NOT HEAR FROM ME IN A FEW DAYS THEN YOU KNOW I SCREWED THIS UP!

RE: Jeff's Mixing Adventure
YES, I AM ALIVE! This first mix did not turn out as well as I was hoping, but I think I know what the issue is. I am using 80VG/20PG pre-mixed base liquid, flavor extracts and no nicotine. Obviously, the throat hit is not there as the PG mixture is low and there is no nicotine mixed in. This was a known before I started. The eJuice turned out with the tastes that I wanted, but the flavors and smells were (dull, muted) not strong enough. Since this is a fruit flavor mix, it is pretty much a mix and vape type mixture, but I will let in sit and get back to it later. I will post an update.

The flavor that I am trying to get is a multiple apples and cherry mix. The mixture was 22.2ml base liquid (pre-mix 80VG/20PG), 2.4ml Apple Pie, 1.8ml Green Apple, 1.8ml Triple Apple and 1.8ml Wild Cherry.

There are a lot of names that come to mind and I am sure I will forget several, so I am just going to say THANK YOU TVF for all the great posts and comments that have helped me! TVF is a great community and without it I am not sure I would have quit smoking, learned about Ohm's Law or any of the DIY ideas.

I have highlighted in bold the corrections to my typos from the previous post.

The flavors are coming out more to the liking of what I wanted. I believe that with a bit more steeping that this will turn out to be better than I originally thought, as I have read that the fruit flavors are of a 'mix and vape' type mixture. As I am not completely sure yet I will wait until I am happy with the recipe before adding it to the recipe section of the forum.

RE: Jeff's Mixing Adventure
That's about 21% flavour. The resulting juice (given that just about all flavours are dissolved in PG) is about 60:40 so the flavours ought to come out strongly. I'd leave it for a month before deciding on the mix. The more different flavours you add, the longer it is likely to take for them to "blend" together.

This is without any specific knowledge of the flavours concerned, just general principles.

It's hard to wait and see but I always like to mix up new flavours well in advance of testing them.
