It's hard to say.

It'll definitely be better than a Smok or Kanger mod as those guys tend not to bother with quality control.

If you need the 250W (Which very, very few people do) then you are more restricted in your choice as all of the Chinese 200+W mods are not safe with that sort of power from two 18650 cells.

My personal rule of thumb is that no mod should pull more than 50W per cell.

Most high watt DNA mods use an internal lithium polymer pack which is much safer at the required currents but the downside of this is that it is out of action until it is recharged. If you actually use the watts this may be a downside as it will spend more time charging than being vaped.

There are some crappy DNA mods out there too. But not inexpensive ones as the DNA chipset costs upwards of $50 on its own.

Almost certainly as a lot of them cannot produce the claimed power. As voltage sag in the cells under heavy load will prevent it.

I vape at very low power and I have a couple of DNA mods. There are quite a few decent chips out there now but I do find the DNA ones have a better power management and therefore you get more time out of the batteries.

Another thing that vaulted the DNA mods into the spotlight was their TC capabilities. A lot of people claim they are the masters of TC. And that may be true. I've never used one, but I *do* use TC and have found that there are less expensive devices that do TC very well. iPV series mods are one (YiHi chipset devices in general). The Dovpo Topside Dual I recently got does TC very well also, which came as a surprise to me. Makes me think they may have a YiHi chipset in them.

If you are not using TC, I can't say there'd be proper justification for a DNA device. That's not to say I wouldn't recommend one either. Owners do swear by them and that says something.

But as Don alluded to, "better" than a 45 dollar mod is not just performance. There's fit and finish. as well as longevity considerations too. Seems most of the DNA devices are pretty sturdy. But there are low end mods that are sturdy too. Welcome to the world of So Many Options.

These are conversations that tend to go nowhere. I will admit I'm somewhat jaded. I own more than a few high end mods. I have mechanical tubes that cost 450+, I have stab wood regulated that are 400+. I own DNAs, Dicodes and Yihis.

No one can tell if it is worth it. Today I'm using a set up at work that costs less than 100 and I'm very happy with it. I will go home and vape a 30mm tank on my Releaux (which I consider low end) and be happy with that too. It's not my Helo on my G Class which is 350+ but I enjoy both.

There is an undeniable look and feel to some high end mods. The finishing, the materials - they speak for themselves. Either you appreciate it or you don't care and just want to get a decent vape. I don't judge.

Well, you're certainly not Almost Jaded.
