Imren 3000mah 40amp 3.7 volt batteries safe for a .16 ohm build?
Hi I've been doing some research into these batteries and I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions. Right now on an ohm reader my build reads .2 but on a friends RX  200 it reads .16 so it's not much of a difference. I want to know if this battery is "safe" to use in my mech mod. Right now I'm using a Samsung 25r in it but my ohm calculator says my build is pushing 25 amps which is still over the recommended amp discharge and it's been fine. So I'm conflicted of if I'm even safe vaping.

Hey nmc.

My gut reaction is NO.. I say that because rewrapped batteries always exaggerate the specs, but they usually do it by way of amps, the mah is normally the closest spec, again exaggerated, but closer.
If they claim 3000mah I'd be inclined to think they've rewrapped an lghg2, which does have 3000mah but only 15-18a discharge. It'll take a .16 but it'll not take it for long or make the coil perform. Vtc3 or 4, is your best bet. In reality your coil will want 22ish amps so a 25r will be stressed but won't heat up too quickly.
Any battery you chose just keep an eye on the temp of it while in use, if it's getting quite warm back off the cloud making and let it cool.

The Imren are re wrapped LG are they not.. lghg2

From what Ive learned I would take the 40A rating as a pinch of salt, and told to look at the C rating the 40A being pulse with Continuous Discharge Current of 20A

25 A 2x XTAR® 18650 IMR XTVTC4 2200mAh Battery rate : 11C

Sony VTC5 Battery Rate : 12C
Max. Continuous Discharge Current : 30A
Max. Pulse discharge : 50A

Sony 25R 10C
Safe run up to : 75 Watts Continuously and 110 Watts Pulse
Coils: Up to 0.20 Ohm

I happen to like the Imren. I use them a lot. The new green Imrens are fine. I also use Efests. But you must stay above .2 ohms. Below .2 ohms I only use my Tesiyi or LGs. Of course half my attys are below .2 ohms now as someone shipped me coils that rock.
