RE: I'm trying to get my build higher ohms
The effest 3000mah are 15-18c discharge rated. I was going to go on and say it'll be fine with some math evidence.. but I can't because it's stated as an 11v output device. With only 8.4 max output from the batteries the math won't work.
Don may be able to assist further. Biggrin

RE: I'm trying to get my build higher ohms
I seem to remember the Efest 3000mAh cells are dangerously over-rated. Time for Google...

It is pushing it to call it a 20A cell. I'd call it a 15A cell when used in series (As any weakness in either cell will be magnified) so that'll allow from Ohm's Law 126W. Given that the voltage will sag like crazy at that sort of draw, it will actually be considerably less.

0.18 ohms, 8.4V

Current = voltage divided by resistance. So the current asked for is 8.4/0.18 = 47A. There is no such thing as an 18650 that is remotely safe at that combination. In series, such a low resistance will seriously damage the cells.

In the more probable case of the cells being in parallel the numbers are 0.18 ohms and 4.2 volts = 23A but the current is being shared between the two cells so around 11.5A each which is well within their capabilities.

There are actually no 18650s paired that are within their designed limits at 200W, you need three or more cells for that. Regulation changes the game somewhat, but at the end of the day if you want 200W out of the mod, more than 200W has to go into it from the cells powering it (There is no such thing as a 100% efficient electronic device)

Most mods are output current limited anyway, I can't find numbers for it on my favourite online calculator.

The Tesla 120W is limited to 24A and 11V as maximum outputs - some 200W mods are rated to 40A which is IMO pushing the boundaries for a pair of 18650s in parallel. In series it isn't something I'd use without seeing clearly what is actually being sucked out of the cells at what voltage and current.

get 28 awg wire.  3 strands makes a great twisted coil that comes out to roughlythe same resistance as single strand 24 awg.  2.5mm ID, 4-6 wraps will get you to between .25 and .45 with dual coils (.5-.9 ohms each).

Fewer wraps is better.

Remind one liberal per day, that laws affect only the law-abiding.
