It's impossible to sit down here between 3:30 and 4:30 when the hounds get fed. So I had to find something to do.

I decided that I liked Spas' idea of using a cartomiser to hold the mod in place in a drill chuck.

So I chucked up the Penny clone - I wasn't that fond of the roughly machined look - while it is grippy it looks dirty approximately 3 minutes after polishing.
So off we spin with a bit of Brasso - I can't find my Autosol and I wanted something more aggressive.
Then I thought steel wool - so I took a (dry) Brillo pad to it then polished it some more.
I think it looks nicer now.

I'm now debating with myself about 1200 grit wet and dry used wet and going the whole way to a mirror finish.

Then I think that the dogs are going to be horribly hungry by the time I'm finished.

I think it already looks great but a mirror finish is always tempting LOL Big Grin

If I do go to a mirror finish I'll need to find some sort of heat resistant clear coat. I'd certainly not be up for that sort of effort all that often. Smile
