RE: How long to steep?
Hi Mist-E. You're going to hear from more folks than me that steeping time depends on the juice. Fruity ones tend to be ready a lot sooner than custards and baked goods. You can range between zero steep time (called a shake-n -vape) to a 6 month steep period, depending.

RE: How long to steep?
Best advice other than the type of juice is just to test them over time until you get the right steep for each juice.

RE: How long to steep?
Also some people make the mistake of adding more percentage of flavour to combat it, this spoils the taste also... You think adding more flavour would help but it can make it worse...

True that. There are some flavors that are best used in smaller percentages. Peanut Butter is one of those, as well as Caramel. Since you can't make up for the mouthfeel of those real things, people tend to amp up the amount of flavoring to try to overcome that, which only serves to kill the juice.

RE: How long to steep?
Here are my rules for steeping which change every time I mix.

Fruits - shake and vape
Anything with custard - start with one month and test, best results are after 4 months of steeping, but after 4 months of testing there may not be much left. Find a good place to hide it.
Baked goods - my attempts have been total failures, so no clue as to steep time.

Others advice is always welcome. How long have you been mixing MistE?

RE: How long to steep?
MistE that is a difficult to answer question due to all of the variables - just to mention a few: volume of flavouring; # of flavourings; amount of cremes in the mix; batch size; whether you open the mix bottles and expose it to air (some flavour molecules will escape while other mixes it will air it out and make it better); room temperature; storage location/temperature where mix is stored, etc...

For a basic level of consistency, I store all of my steeping mixes in the same place and generally don't alter the process except I've tried using the hot water bath a few times with creme recipes to speed it up...

RE: How long to steep?
MistE, how long have you been mixing? Or are you just asking about premade juice. The answers are very different, with premade juice you don't know how long they have been on the shelf so just taste/test and put it away for a month or so and taste again. Then again so juices are just not to ones liking and no amount of steeping will help with that. If you are mixing here are some articles you might find interesting.
