I was always sort of curious about how it all worded if rebuilding myself...I suppose youtube must have plenty of videos on it...your posted image makes perfect sense....so my only other questions are (a) how long does that last before having to be redone (average) and (b) how long does a newbie tumble with it before he throws it against the wall in frustration or finally get the accomplishment smile? RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Normal mortals don't make coils like Paul and Gently.

I could spend the rest of the month failing to make those.

As long as the coil is suitable resistance and robust enough that rewicking it (Some folks do this up to daily) doesn't damage it, then a coil will last for months. I have coils in use that are a year old.

The usual thing that destroys my coils is not paying attention to how much power I'm putting through them when dry burning them (without a wick) to get rid of gunk.

My goal is to someday be remembered with an honorable mention when people talk about the forum's coil makers. Laugh2

I could send you some choice cuts if you know what you want. Might take a little while to get there though..

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
atm im interested in clapton builds , i harvested some worn bass strings to get practice materials . verry soft nickel not realy suitable for vape , but a challenge to wrap without breaking. breaking down the strings also offered deep insight of the clapton build

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I can hook you up.. but I'll need to know target resistance for the mod so I know what to send, it's hard to get over a .2 with dual fc's. Most fc's are .1 for ss, .15 for nichrome, and .2 for kanthal. Of course it varies a lot but if you go by that rule it's easier to plan the build.

26g kanthal + any outer 32-38g wrap, 5/6×3/2.5mm wraps @.2 for dual fc's
24g kanthal + any outer 32-38g wrap 5×2.5mm wraps @.2 for regular clapton coils

Take yer pic Good
