Thanks mate! I think the nichrome gives it a slight metallic taste at first. Seems to go away after a few good hits though. Maybe just my imagination. I'm ordering some SS wire, since I like nichrome's lower resistance but it's not my favorite wire to work with. Hopefully the SS will do well I've heard good things.

SS wire is the way to go unless someone like named 'mike' sends you nichrome. Then they are perfect. And anytime you want me to test your coils ... well just let me know.

I'll preach 316l until something new happens.. speaking of which, anyone tried ni90 yet? 10% higher nickel than normal 80/20. I'm thinking lower resistance faster ramp up?

My second set of usable coils. This one seems to produce much better clouds and flavor than the other at roughly the same resistance .19. SS 316L, 24 8 wraps with a 3mm core diameter. Nothing as fancy as what you guys are building but I'm getting there and loving it Smile

The first set was a 2.5mm core diameter.. not sure if that made a difference or not?

Trying something new. Fused Claptons, 24/30 kanthal. Comes out to 0.13 ohms, 4.2V puts it right at 135W. Talk about power. I've never made a build that could make it above 100W, so this is pretty intense. Of course, I've never had a mod that could go above 100W (besides the God Mod 180 with its 0.4 ohm minimum) so this is absolutely awesome.

If you were wondering why I've not posted anything new here it's because I thought I'd plateaued with the lizard skin coil.. well I did, that's such a nice coil!
But here's a new one I've been playing with, twisted flattened stitched staple coil.
26g 317l twisted flattened, wrapped parallel vertical with 38g 304ss.

Though I could calculate it, which grade stainless are you using? In tc?

316L. Not using TC. I use power. Usually between 85 to 100 watts.
