RE: How do you dip yer wick?
OK, give me some ideas for a coil setup I can do with what I currently have... I have 26g and 28g A1 wire. Did the double twist, triple twist, mixed the gauges twisting, and of course straight up coiling. What else can you do with 26g and/or 28g kanthal?

Twisted 28 parallel with 26 maybe?

And I'm certain this has been asked before, but how important is it to try to center the coils? I always try to fidget them into the center rather than offset, I always figured wicking may be a problem if the coil was too squished over on one side?

Twist two strands of 28g together.

Lay the twisted 28 side by side with the 26 and coil the two together.

Five wraps of that round a 2.5mm former will be around 0.64 ohms per coil - so dual coils of it will be around 0.32 ohms.

And no, I didn't know that or work it out by myself.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
You want the airflow to hit the coil as directly as possible so it is usually a good idea to centre the coils. It also means they are less likely to short out on the atomiser's body.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Mike, I'll be the first to admit I got the idea for using twisted wire in a Clapton from you Tongue
Since I just got back from spending over 13 hours in airports or planes, four of which was "unexpected delays," I just wanted to make something relatively easy (compared to the stapled helix, anything is easy lol). Also, I was a little bit drunk at the time. I'm quite proud of how it turned out, I'm vaping it single coil at the moment and it's quite nice at 50W, 0.5 ohms, it would be awesome dual coil.
I tried to make a coil using several strands of ribbon as the core for a Clapton, but it was impossible to keep them vertical and I ended up with a twisted mess of awful wire. Omelets and eggs, eh?

try 3-4 small O rings to help stack the ribbon wire , an push them down as you do your wraps .
