RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I built a 3mm .52 26g 35g kanthal, nichrome fc in single mode.. deffo not something you'd normally hear me say!

Took some prodding and poking to get this to work, which it does quite nicely Smile. Flavour is OK,  vapour is well on the warm side and it gives a very nice cloud[Image: CM160127-23595801_zpsxhz0tf1t.jpg]

The cricket is a beast. Getting a handle on it is not for the faint hearted!

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Alright, so building on my last coil, which was the 26g kanthal twisted together, I listened to gently and added a third wire when I was about halfway done twisting yesterday. The result was, of course, a thicker coil with lower resistance. A dual coil, 3.0 mm ID, with 6 wraps ohm's it out at just about .18. Wicked and fired it, and realized that at 40w it reminded me a lot of the old coils I used to use at 15w- that is to say, boring and slow. So I bumped it up to 70 and it vaped great. It's nice to be able to vape at high wattages and not fear burning. Here's a 'please don't make fun of my build' picture.

Who the hell can make fun of that!? It's a minter!

So it's a twisted +1 twisted? Looks good! I'm using the same coil in my velocity at 110w real flavour coil. Smile

Oh, and ps, told you it'd happen Tongue ... your turning

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I can barely got two wires twisted together, much less make it look that good with 3. Well done, mate, glad it's working for you.

Just out of curiosity, how do you hold onto the wire when you're twisting? I tried using pliers, but one of the wires always slips out of the teeth if they're not exactly the same length. Maybe if I got some flat nylon tipped pliers instead...?
