RE: How do you dip yer wick?
This last one for the evening I went a little more conservative with a 6-wrap microcoil using 28awg kanthal.  I have to say, tonight is the first time I've used kanthal instead of nichrome and man, is it easy to work with!  I really dig it.

Anyway, here it is after installing into the coil head and before wicking is added.

Here she is after some cotton wicking has been added.  She's quite pretty, no?  SHe tests out at 1.3 ohms of resistance.  Just where I wanted it to be. Smile

How does she work?  Pretty well.  In fact, extremely well!!  I tried running it with my 70/30 VP/PG mix and it was just a touch too thick to keep up with it.  I switched out the juice for some pg based blend of flavors I made a while back that tastes like Juicy Fruit gum.  Being a lot less viscous than the VG mix it wicks extremely well and both flavor and vapor production is outstanding.  I'm really digging it!

I made a second coil head the same way and installed it in another protank filled with my pg based Irish Coffee "Caffeteine" juice from Lehighvapor.com.  WOW!  I can finally taste the Irish Cream in it where I could barely taste it in the past.  It's positively wonderful.  Twas a good night for Mac. You have been a busy boy! I really need to get some ribbon wire, I think its the answer to some of my issues.

Ok, I ditched the wicks on the nano dragon,  it was just too flakey, I pulled through some cotton leaving a puff to fill the well......works great, I wont put nano coils in everything but the do work, like everything, you just need to find what works for you.

Should hopefully have my rocket and fogger v2 this week, I cannot wait to try some builds in those.

Looks fantastic Johnny, I really enjoyed reading through that little lot, with pics and vid too!

I still can't get my nimbus working right with the dual nano's, I did the same as you Graham, rewicked it completely but will likey look for something else. I'm still a big fan of single coils atm Smile

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I'm happy with the dual coils, but dual micros with a cotton cloud in the well seemed to give me much greatee times between drips. For similar sized clouds. That said,  I punched a secobd hole in the igo-w and that has merely muted the flavour.....a step back for me, but its still usable so what the hell.

Believe it or not, my rsst at 15watts is my current cloud chucker, just it needs frequent cotton changes, really not an issue with the cost of cotton and its a five minute job, pull cotton, burn coil clean, drop in new cotton,  throw clouds. Cant knock that, I'm running a 2mm airhole, 2.4ohm micro coil and whatever piece of cotton wool I can fit in there lol

hehe sounds like you and I are at exactly the same experimental stages Graham Big Grin

Hmm now you have given me an idea. I might try a micro coil with higher gauge wire

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
It should work, but I think you'll really want dual coils for a mech,  I got about 3 or four wraps to get the resistance down on .2 kanthal, due to the short length it was disappointing - not enough coverage in contact with the wick. I do think ribbon wire is the way forwards - you seem to get a much longer heating element for your resistance,  on a vw device it doesn't matter, just crank up the wattage but on a mech resistance is everything,  its one reason I love my vamo's,  they make poor builds usable.

One thing, try your vamo at 15watts on an 18650 then put two good 18350's in and repeat......I was surprised to say the least.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Made a tricro coil for the Igo yesterday - No pics because I forgot and now it's wicked there's no much that's see-able.

Next time I re-wick it I'll grab a pic. Impressive though - very impressive, came out at 1.4 ohms but behaves just like a sub ohm coil.

Only thing is I mounted it upside down, might have to fix that UndecidedDodgy

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Spas showed me a pic of a tricoil and I perused the pic owner's album a bit.  The guy has the hands of a freaking surgeon!  Here is one setup he did that just impresses the fuck out of me!

All his stuff looks that neat.  Just amazing!  Here is his album if you want to see more.  He has lots of great ideas.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Next time I rewick I'm going to try a diamond coil I think.  That one looks interesting.
