I totally have room to improve.

And for the record I'm not saying I have issues; what I really want is to make the most of the juice, wicking, and coils so I can get the best experience with the setup at, say, 40 watts. If I want to take a 5 second draw, I want to be able to without fear of bacon throat.

The coil in my previous post will handle 120w for a 5 second hit easily. I do occasionally,  when it's 'who's got the biggest cloud' o'clock, not that I'd recommend it to anyone. Wink

Here's the coil I'm using in the v3. Fused Clapton. 2×24awg nichrome wrapped with 34awg kanthal. Coming out at .07. I went with the thicker diameter external wrap as it seems to last longer.

How well do those coils withstand rewicking?

Just wondering. I've always got on just fine with simple coils. Made with heavy wire so I don't wreck the coils by rewicking them.

It's essentially a parallel 24awg that's strapped together so it's pretty dam strong! Easily as strong as a 20awg. And with the thicker gage wrap it lasts ages.  Smile

As I had to re-wick my crius rta earlier so I thought I'd get a quick pic of the coils I'm using.

They're a micro fused Clapton, two 29awg 317l ss inner core wires wrapped with 37awg nichrome. Five 2mm wraps at .12.

I have the same build I'm my billow v2, it's just by far and away the best rta coil I've used! Easily a contender to any tfv4 coil. Flavour and vapour production are off the charts Sun_bespectacled

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Yep, another build from me.

So I got the new mutation rta earlier...

Again with my micro fused clapton, I'd like to do another build but it's genuinely the best coil I've used in an rta[Image: 20151124_195840_zpsyr9x0snh.jpg]

For got to take a pic of wicking it but in all honesty your not missing much
Here's the completed job[Image: 20151124_203504_zpsspdjeswn.jpg]

Now I realise this isn't a review thread but while your lookin I might as well say;
This is the worst rta I've ever owned, honestly one to stay away from!
If you'd like to know why I say that I'll post it in an appropriate thread later Wink
