I'm not sure if wicking will get better or worse with time. Probably will have to remove a couple to get vg to wick though

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Pulled two strands of silica, and so far no flooding or dry hits.

I am really impressed with the Taifun. Looks complicated, looks like it would be tough to set up. But it was a breeze. I have only had it a day, but I dont think I will have to fiddle fuck with it as much as I thought once I get it tuned in

aaaand... I forgot to check the resistance again when I had it apart..

Easiest thing I've built.

Just stick a meter over the 510 connector.

Durrrr... To_pick_ones_nose

0.5 ohms. I am guessing that twisted wire acts as a dual coil instead of one fat wire...?

Shouldn't. Using 0.3mm wire, twisting it will make it 0.14mm2 instead of 0.07mm2. But there is a much longer length of wire in there than there would be if it weren't twisted together. I can't remember the equations for resistance etc in multiple wires.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Thanks Pulsar, I'm one of them on the fence about getting one of these. I would really like a tank set-up that I enjoy. I don't enjoy messing with them to much. Well, I don't mind if it takes me a while to tune it in. But after that I want to be able to do it again and again without having to start from scratch.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Put it this way... This is my first successful tank build, and I did something out of the norm. I was worried I would need to fiddle fuck with it, but seems like it's tuned in fine. Tonight I got a dryish hit, quick dry hit and was good. I have never thought about buying two of anything, but you know how Chinese shit can be... Buy it now, or never see me again. I dint trust 510 connections to last. If they made a hybrid clone and a nano kit, I'd probably buy 5

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Ended up having to rebuild the Taifun. Some cotton worked its way under the coil so it was blocking the airflow. After I put the cotton back where it belonged, it was not working right. After trial and error, I realized it developed a hot leg somehow and could not get it to work.
This time 4 wraps around the screwdriver with twisted 28g, and straight cotton. It has been a little gurgly, but so far no leaks. I am hoping the cotton will swell up a little and seal it off, if not I will add a strand or two of silica to it.

This time I am using the clear tank, and I made sure to perfectly align the Taifun logo on the vape chamber to the button on the Roller... shes looking nice. Wish I had some bright blue juice that was crystal clear so it would give it a nice accent LOL

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Double cross, so far, has been able to handle a quad twist dual coil running at 0.16 ohms... I'll admit, dry firing it wasn't a good idea as the positive post now has a slight brown tinge, but, that was fun... Tongue

currently using a 0.25ohm dual coil and loving it! Clouds galore
