RE: How do you dip yer wick?
They looked a lot better till I tried to trap two separate lots of thick ribbon under a tiny screw head. It wasn't quick or easy - or as you've seen very pretty afterwards Smile

I'll probably redo it with mesh - the silica is wicking too well - the thing empties itself just sitting there upright.

dual twist 28 microcoil. 8 wraps on 1/16.  .8ohms. One of them V something drippers. I can't remember which one. Pretty good tasting.

Can you guess the song from the bit of sheet music?

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

Very tidy coil buddy. I'm sporting one of those in 30 gauge once again in my Omega.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Last night I decided to do my first chimney coil on my Kayfun Lite.  Came out damned nice if I do say so myself and vapes great!  Lots of clouds, good flavor and once it was going it actually kept up with me emptying the tank in about 2 hours.

I started with a 28ga chimney coil wound on one of the shafts of those cheap screwdrivers that come with atties.  Best use for them by far!  I didn't want the coil to be too tight but I still wanted it to be a micro coil.  I tried to leave just a small amount of spacing between the coils for the juice and vapor to escape to the inside of the coil where the air stream is.

Looks good so far.  Now for some dry firing before adding the wicking to clean the kanthal.  It also doubles as a 300 lumen flashlight! Tongue

Install the atomizing chamber cylinder.  Add some cotton wicking by lightly placing some cut sections into the little side pockets then lightly packing it around the outside of the coil.  Should end up looking like this...

Wet it with lots of e-juice then assemble the rest of the kayfun and fill the tank.  Vapes a freaking treat!!  I will say that when chain vaping with it that atty gets hotter than I've ever had my kayfun get. Big Grin  I almost forgot to mention...no whistling with this setup like there was with a horizontal coil.  The kayfun whistle must come from the air coming into the chamber, not from the outer hole like I originally thought.

Gords' Prometheus (0.6 ohms) gets so hot that I can't touch the top cap for a while to refill it. Definitely not one for a metal drip-tip.

Smoke

I like that about it Don, its a thick freaking lump of stainless too.

Nice build johnny, I could never get the wicking right, that makes some sense looking at your build, I'm going to give that a go when I pull the kayfun back out of retirement, the aqua has claimed its place till I get an origin.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Dunno, young Raguri is thrashing his and the .5ohm build was harsh. This is smooth as the whole air slots are covered by coil.

1mm x .1 ribbon, quad coils, .4ohm, takes two good pulls to dry the wicks out lol.
