RE: How do you dip yer wick?

So the tridents rewicked along with a bonus test fire video heres the coils

Here's the wicks pre wetting and seating

And here they are snugged and ready to rock

I've gone with less cotton this time and planted it on each side rather than tucked under, see if more airflow around the coils helps with vapour production.

Next the kayfun......hmmm the kayfun, I was kinda feelung the taifun had ruined it but decided maybe it just needed the right build in it.

So.....

Thats some wraps of tripple twisted .25 kanthal around a blue handled clone screwdriver. Came out at .7ohm on the vamo which experience tells me is .8ohm on the fluke. Bang on where I wanted it. Kayfuns apparently dont like to go much below .8ohm, they signal their displeasure by melting the insulator......but at 1ohm I find mine to be a cool vape, even with dual coils in there.

Here's the wick

And here's it trimmed wetted and seated

Its a lovely warm flavourful vape, vapour production is still disappointing, I'm going to take a drill bit to the airway when its empty again, see if I can get some air in there.

Now the tirimisu flavour concentrate from nanny bakes on ebay.....

Tirimisu
To make 10.0mls @ 12.0mg Nicotine(Mls)
Base Nicotine - 1.7
PG : - 2.3
VG : - 5.0
Nanny Bakes Tirimisu - 1.0
Total Flavouring - 1.0
Expected PG:VG Ratio - 50:50
Actual PG:VG Ratio - 50:50

Thats what I'm testing out, its bloody lovely! A kind of dry coffee cake flavour rather than the typical brandy soaked sponge of a cheap tirimisu, with a lovely creamy overtone. I'm very impressed and will definitely be getting more of these "super concentrates" to try.

Here is a 1.4 ohm microcoil on my new Fatty V3.  This baby snaps and crackles like a sub-ohm rig.  The flavor is outstanding with a warm, moist vapor you could almost chew.  It makes me salivate after taking a hit on it.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Got me some doubled up twisted 28g kanthal, twisted as raguri said spin til one end breaks. Three wraps around a 2.5mm allen key. Cotton wicks.... blah

Got it set up in my Storm A RDA with two of these coils. I have had my AIOS set up with cotton for about a week now, and after 2 or 3 days the cotton taste went away so I am going to try it in this. The Storm likes the cotton way better than silica. It soaks it up and dont leak. The juice wells are actually useful now.

It is putting out some killer clouds right now, but I hope the cotton taste goes away in a couple days like it did in the AIOS

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Sounds great Pulsar! did that come in at the 0.5ohm mark or somewhere around there ?

The cotton taste will diminish, only takes a couple of hours for me but I'm used to it now. When I first started using cotton I didn't like it at all.

The ribbon coils on the Kraken are UGLY! Note the bonus free hound hair.

But it wicks very well indeed - far too well in fact, just standing there upright and undisturbed, it gets wet with juice.

Dual 2mm silica wicks, dual nasty ribbon coils. Works nicely though the silica should have been torched rather more, I can taste it.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Pulsar, when you are handling cotton. Thoroughly wash your hands before you touch it. The oils on your fingers can contaminate the cotton and give a foul taste, it catches me out if I do it in the garage, now I fit and test my coils in the garage then wick in the kitchen, makes a big difference.

I've done a build today on a new atty. Don knows about it but I'll do a build post on the next rebuild. It comes highly gords recommended and is cheap for a bottom coil tank.
