RE: How do you dip yer wick?
FB, you'll get a better vape with a lot less wraps, 5 or 6. Took me a long time to learn that.

I too prefer 5 or 6 wrap coils, though It could be a matter of resistance, especially with a series mod.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Gently for the win! @5-6 wraps I would have been in the 0.3 range. Using Ni80 I wanted/needed a much higher build......and I didn't want to go smaller in id. Tongue My further logic was that as I was taking it on vacation with me, if for any reason I had to, I could remove one of the coils and still run it as a decent Eddie styled single coil vape.....in the 1.4 range..... I understand. I use to chase the ohms too, but I got tired of the ramp up and ditched my SS for A1 because of it. I learned it from G and he's right.

I tend to have a strong preference to 24 and 26g kanthal , but do keep some Nichrome on hand for heavy builds like Juggernauts or transformers

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I only build simple single strand coils using 28g Kanthal. I used to use 32g but it was too thin and was not robust enough to re-wick - taking out the old wicking ruined the coil no matter how careful I was. With 28g my coils last for months[Image: smile.gif]. This is for MTL of course.

I use single micro claptons. Otherwise I use 26g spaced. I try and space my singles.

For the most part I've been really enjoying the 2 wire twisted.

Paul, there will soon be a quick video on the FB page of a dual twisted SS build. Tongue

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I just use two wire FC. Easy to make and works good enough. I do not have the talent or patience to do better.

Oh, and FB I wasn't intending to insult. Just mentioned it because I was a worm-wrapper until G showed me the light.
