RE: How do you dip yer wick?
The first one haha.

Usually when its time to rebuild, I just build a whole new coil and wick and try something new. Still new to rebuildables, so still trying new things

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Tonight I just did a 3 wrap around doubled up 3.5mm wick with 28g kanthal. not sure what it came out to, but its got to be sub ohm, cus shes hittin hard.

Also reamed out the center hole of the AIOS. not sure what I reamed it out to, but reamed until it was a little stiffer than I was shooting for. Took longer than expected. My cheap drill bit got about half way through and dulled, so I tried the reamer but the hole was not open enough for it to bite. So I tried a cheap tear drop shaped rotary tool diamond(?) grind bit and it snapped off... so I went at it with the drill bit some more, and finally got the reamer to bite... need to get my good drill bits out of my tool box in my dads shop...

Thats why I just did a simple three wraps around silica wick, kind of ate up all my time enlarging the hole.

But, she is hitting hard and tastes good... all that matters

PS: built up an emergency kit for my lunch box. Included about a foot of 28g kanthal and a foot of 3.5mm silica wick. Plenty enough for an emergency recoil at work. Anyone else carry around an emergency kit?

If I'm going out for the day or overnight I take a kit with me. Extra's of everything. I use cotton for most all of my coils and I keep some extra of that in particular. It's easy to get a dry hit and burn your cotton, especially if you are letting other people hit your PV.

That reminds me. I'm going to put some in the box mod I just made. It has some extra room. I dry burn and re-wick with cotton pretty much every day.

I carry three or four complete set ups in the van. Its unlikely they'll all fail when I'm at work.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Just rewicked the Taifun for the first time since I got it. Now too low resistance to run on the Vamo but working nicely on the Hammer. That'd be about 5-6 weeks so I thought it needed a clean.

The Ithaka isn't going to get rewicked/coiled until it absolutely has to. It has over a dozen refills on it now. At the moment it's gurgling like a very gurgly thing.

The tiny dripper got new silica wick and coils after my chocolate extract trials and the bigger dripper got new cotton wool yesterday but keeps the same coils. The Pulse G has had the same mesh wick and coils for about two months now.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I had a bit of a purge on my wicks this week.

The kayfun desperately needs recoiling but it got 4mls of red astaire in it this morning, I dread to think what it'll look like in there when its drained lol, its not had a dry hit since I dual coiled it and its had one wick change. I figure I'll try dual nano coils around .8ohm nect build.

The taifun just goes from strength to strength, its definitely my favorite bottom coil tank at the moment.

The prometheus is cleaned out, coils dry burnt and washed and wicks flamed to cleanliness, I just need to get to the post office to send it north and the foggatti south.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I just rebuilt the coils in my Omega Dripper.

Before: Dual coils 7 wraps of 30gauge Kanthal per side = 0.9 ohms

After: Dual coils 6 wraps of 30gauge Kanthal per side = No idea but 0.7 ish probably.

I just felt it lacking slightly, you know how it can tail off a little... Now it's a warmer denser vape with a bit more flavour and has that little extra kick it needed. It pops and cracks now which it didn't do at all before so overall I'm glad I took the ohms down a little.

Just thought I'd share... no pics (even though my coil building is like a pro now Tongue) because I've lost the camera memory stick and card reader - doh!
