RE: How do you dip yer wick?
So, the charm and allure of the Clapton is obviously the enhanced wicking (some are in it for the looks of them). How does one go about building a Clapton for a high ohm build, say something suited for less than 20w? You can't actually Clapton a single strand can you?

*Yes, I'm still green about a lot of things, coil making being one.

You can definitely build a single core clapton and they are a lot easier to make than a fused clapton.

Time and patients , i got plenty of the first and after a few beers im better with the second . I usually build single core claptons , 30/34 is a pain in the sitty parts but makes i nice high resistance low wat vape . 28/34 will get .8 dual coil without being huge .

I guess it's technically dual core but I really enjoyed doing a 2 strand 28g tightly twisted then clapton in 32g kinda sorta single strand - super easy and lots of favour. Tongue

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
TW you can absolutely build a single core clapton. At that point, it's just a regular clapton, as opposed to a fused clapton (multi-core). With normal Claptons, the resistance is just whatever the resistance would be for the core: for example if you wrap 26g in 32g, ignore the 32g and treat it like a 26g basic coil.

I suspect that in my intended atomizer, they wouldn't fit. Good stuff to know, though.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
After all of the chat about high ohm builds, wire selection, etc... I decided to rebuild the el cabron - 24g 3mm id, 14 wrap came in @ 0.58Ω and enjoying my Italian Cereal Killer juice.

First on the Minikin 1.5

Does look better on the HEX OHM (Hex Angel) Tongue

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I wanted thick wire and to keep the ohms high and a good thick id for wicking ease... damn, a year ago this would have all sounded foreign.... Tongue
