RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Not much to look at, but this is actually a pair of 6 ply SS316L framed staple coils - weighing in at 0.37Ω! For those of you that aren't familiar with building, this is extremely high resistance for this type of build in a standard RDA.
They're in the Rafale X "series RDA", which was introduced to me by Stoic. In a regular RDA, this build would have been around 0.09Ω.

What's the gauge of the core? I like that resistance number. Is it twisted or are they all straight? If straight, how do you keep them that way?

The cores are 0.3x0.1 ribbon, with 28g frames and 40g binding - all SS316L.
I'll wrap them with 38g spacers to keep them aligned, and slide them along as I wrap the cores.

It just takes a little patience to learn, after that it's pretty easy.

Also, I'll use a little 50/50 VG/PG liquid on the cores to kinda keep them stuck together. Makes all the difference in the world.

These are the kind of tips and tricks I live for. Thanks. Great tip!! Do you use swivels too I guess? I haven't done that yet... Well, I did try them once, but got basically the same results as not using one.

Hi TW - swivels are really useful things, I use them when I am spinning for salmon - stops the line kinking up[Image: smile.gif].

Yes, but you have to use them in redundancy - 3 sets is perfect. That way, when one fails (or tightens) you have others to take up the balance.

Good idea - belt and braces[Image: smile.gif].
