but it's entertaining to test your limits and see what efect if any it has on the vape . besides in the north it's winter and tv is a lost cause .

Really?! You must be assuming form and function can't go hand in hand with coils.. I can promise you they can Wink

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
When gently, Michael and paulS build coils it is an artform of real quality and ingenuity and, as far as I am aware, very functional indeed. They are also pushing the boundaries of vaping to everyone's benefit. For instance - on this forum not long ago someone asked about clapton coils and resistance - I did not know - and I bet many others did not know that the inner core of the coil was how resistance was measured - it always puzzled me how so much bloody wire could give the resistances they achieved. These guys spend hours experimenting with wire of all different varieties and gauges - it is a hobby that not many people can do. I have tried twisting two pieces of kanthal to make a coil - of any resistance - I was not going to use it - and totally failed - it is really difficult. I MTL and building a coil of 1.5ohms is more than enough for me - and not always successful[Image: tongue.gif]. I take my hat off to these guys and others on the forum who build really beautiful coils and we get the pleasure of seeing lots of them - they look a lot better than a some of the jewellery I see about for sure.

So, it uses the thicker inner coil because of the whole 'path of least resistance' thing, right? So does any current travel through the thin outer wire? How much? And how does the thinner wire account for flavor or vapor if it's barely used?

The inner core heats the whole thing but I imagine in doing this more heat is spread to a larger area - hey gently, Michael, Paul - help - TW is proving difficult - and I want to know as well[Image: tongue.gif]. We can all learn something here - this is what it is all about.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
Has anyone ever tried wrapping the cotton around the outside of the coil rather then the inside? I'm sure someone has?

There are such premed coils available. Consensus is they're not so good.

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
I kinda figured they weren't too great, or we'd see them a lot. I wonder what makes them so meh?
