Star How do you dip yer wick?
I found a thread by this name over on the Fasttech forums and thought it was an immensely entertaining and informative one.  I figured it'd be great to have the same over here.

Post some pics of your atty setup and tell us what you did.  Here are a few samples borrowed from the original FT forum page to get you started.

Lol, you need to spend a little more time on tvf and less on fasttech,  I think I linked the same or very similar thread for the exact same reason.  I'm not keen on sharing my monstrosities yet, they work but, well......their not pretty.

Igo-w .7 ohm micro coils with cotton wool wicks. Vaping aniseed eliquid.

Works real well

Very nice build Graham! I tried the same last night but 32 gauge wire is just too thin for a decent microcoil.. need some 28 gauge

Sorry about the low light.

0.7 Ohm dual (standard) coils on the Nimbus (attached to the Chod Smile)

Vapes lovely.. very lovely!

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
.25 kanthal works awesome,  its real heavy on cells and liquid though, and fuck me does it hit hard.

Those coils look well spaced but seriously,  try wrapping micro coils and using cotton wool, the flavour is staggering. I'm just using a blow torch the previous house owner left behind.

I'm still going to try the tricor coil, I just didn't think I had time this afternoon so I went with what I know. Its shoddy but it works.

Oh and I'm now on hot cinnamon,  I'm going to send you up a rescue pack next month, you'll love some of these.

I actually did just that last night but I changed it out again today. Not sure if it was the tiny coils I had or if it was the Cotton Wool but something didn't seem nice.

The flavour was most definitely more noticeable though. I'll try it again when I get some thicker wire I think.

W00t! I can't wait buddy, I've tried the Fuzion Bonzai and that had a Cinnamon taste to it that I loved. Big Grin Thanks man!

Rsst,  .25 kanthal 6 wraps around a 3mm screwdriver shaft then pinched and flamed to make a micro coil, cotton wool wick, running at 7watts on a vamo with vanilla 6mg eliquid (dont know the pg/vg ratio) it does this

RE: How do you dip yer wick?
That's what I'm wanting my microcoil to look like Graham. Nice job, how many ohms is that 0.25 with 5 turns ? and do you know what gauge it is equivalent to ?

Its about 1.8ohm so quite conservative, I'm not sure on gauge, I'm English lol we use metric measurements

I've seen a conversion chart somewhere though

Hehe yeah me too but I have to admit that I'm not a great lover of metric unless we're talking Spanner sizes Tongue

Something I must learn is the conversion in my head. Thanks for the link, I'll check that out Smile

What's funny is that I still prefer my 1.3 ohm Igo single coil over the dual coil 0.7 ohm in the Nimbus. I think I will have to really open out those Nimbus airholes as it's really overkill on flavour.
