Hi! Heavy smoker looking to give up (with the help of vaping)
Hello and happy new year to you all!

I've been smoking now for around 30 years and I'm utterly sick of it. Yet, of course, I'm addicted to the things and have found it almost impossible to quit.

I have tried an Apollo "pen" style starter kit a while back (I don't understand the lingo - but one where you filled the tank with liquid). I liked it but it didn't pack enough punch for someone used to 20+ Marlboro lite a day. So recently bought an Apollo Nano, which was the total opposite. It blew my head off, on the lowest settings I couldn't use it as my lungs were burning.

I want to quit. But I need advice on what is the best device as I'm flummoxed.

Best wishes to you all!

Sarah

Sarah what mg liqid are you using? The more effecient the vapor is the lower the nicotine lvl needs to be. With the apollo nano you don't want to use higher than 6mg liquid. 3mg would be better.

Used 18mg in the nano, blew my socks off. But using that in the pen wasn't enough of a hit.

18mg in the nano is enough to choke a horse. Try 6mg and if that is still too much go to 3mg.
Just remember to clean out the tank real well before you put in the new liquid. Also remember that the cotton in the coil is saturated with the 18mg liquid. You might want to use a new coil with the new liquid. It's definitely a learning curve.

Haha! No wonder I was buzzing Girl_witch

Will the 3mg give me enough of a nicotine hit, though? I'm definitely going to get some after your advice, and I'm SO grateful.

Thank you so much

Probably so. I use 3mg and I use to smoke 2 packs of newports a day. Now I only vape. It's easier to get 3mg and if it's not enough then get 6mg than the other way around. Good luck and welcome to TVF

Welcome to TVF Sarah.

Glad to see that Don29 has helped diagnose the problem. Hang in there, I smoked pack/day for 35 years - started vaping almost 10 months ago, never looked back.

On your next order, if they don't have 1mg of nic option, I suggest you hold on to your empty bottles and order 3mg as well as zero nic - you can them mix the two bottles and get a decent 1.5mg - that was another trick that allowed me to reduce my nic without disrupting my momentum yet maintain my need for nicotene. RE: Hi! Heavy smoker looking to give up (with the help of vaping)
This is coming from a 35 year smoker who currently vapes at work during the week and smokes on the weekends. 6mg is a sweet spot for me. I have some 3mg that tastes AMAZING but I can't seem to make it through a work day. My cravings for a cig when vaping 6mg is non-existent. This may be because I am still a part time smoker. Anything over 6mg it too much for me though.

The others are spot on with their suggestions. Save your bottles and experiment. I am current mixing some 3mg with 6mg in an attempt to start bringing the nic level down.... on my way to leaving tobacco forever Smile
