Honestly, the starting points for nic I usually recommend (which believe me are only a guideline, not a hard rule) are generally much lower. Reason being, the lowest you can get yourself sorted to on the nic is the best way to do it in my opinion. Nic is not the cancer causing, evil agent that makes smoking so harmful, but it still raises blood pressure and some other things, so I tend to suggest getting yourself to the lowest % you can abide. But, of course- even high nic levels in vaping is still magnitudes safer than smoking, so it really is 'do what you dig' when it comes to vaping. Any vaping is better than all smoking.

All the liquids I bought are 50/50.

I hear you regarding the lower nic levels, and yeah, I was tempted to start low with the nic content, but truth be told I'm more scared of failing than I'm scared of the high nic at the moment. I'm 20-30 roll ups a day, and I love smoking, so I need max pleasure/nic hit to start with at least, if I'm successful in quitting the smoking, then I'll hopefully start lowering the nic levels.
I've tried the patches and lasted 3 months on 18mg, but as soon as i went down to 12mg I was an absolute animal.

Cheers for the advice though!

RE: Hello
The thing about vaping that cinched it for me was not so much the nic level, but the ability to swap out that oh-so-important hand to mouth habit. I know the nic plays a role and I'm sure you will find your happy place, but the habit part was equally (probably more) important than the addictive agents. Hopefully you find that to be the case too.

Something else about the nic levels and intake... With smoking, there is a beginning and end. You light up, suck that bastard down, and it's over until you light up again. With vaping, there's no need for an 'end'. You just vape what you want when you want to. One draw or 100, up to you. So you can manage lower nic on higher frequency relative to the fags. However, again, I am not necessarily advocating that you not use the higher levels. Just pointing out some other observations. I'll say again and every day... any vaping is far better than all smoking.

RE: Hello
Now, on to some more practical advice. When you get your gear and juice, once you fill the tank wait about five minutes for the juice to saturate the cotton really well before you vape. Eddie (ecignut) can advise the proper wattage setting for your coil. And charge the mod up before you use it, too. Can't wait to hear how you get on with it.

I must admit, I'm getting a little giddy right now, but alas, all I have at the moment is a tracking number. Kit should be delivered Friday, so I expect my first call for help will be around Friday Night. I'll be sure to prime the coil and charge the mod first, I'll probably have a few roll-up's whilst waiting! I'll keep you posted, and thanks again for the advice.

RE: Hello
Prime the coil? You have been reading, well played. Whilst you are waiting for the gear, do yourself a favor and read up on safety and Ohm's Law too. And also for a bit of extra motivation, read up on the positives that come with quitting smoking. All the goodies you have to look forward too. Breathe better, smell better, taste things better, and on.

RE: Hello
UPDATE:

Well, would you believe it, kit arrived a day early, and I'm now 27 hours tobacco free Smile

Everything great at the moment, not had any mad cravings for a smoke, although when I awoke this morning I was a little "tetchy" until i got my nic hit. I seem to have found a sweet spot at 10w with my nautilus 2S with 1.8 coil and two holes open, not sure how much I should be using it, but first 24 hours I've gone through about 3ml of 18mg nic liquid.

Big test is coming tomorrow, out with friends for beer and curry, what could possibly go wrong Smile

Well, when you get a few beers in, don't accidentally fill the tank with curry. Otherwise you should be fine.

Sounds like that's a good place to have the power set. If you get good flavor and it's a good experience, that's excellent. Great job so far man!
