Yes it's easy to make spaced coils with the jig. Wrap them normally, stretch them out and then push them back together. Shazaam! Spaced coils

Yeah, run two wires through and remove one. Voila one spaced coil Smile

It's the first time ive heard this kind of problem. Are you sure that it's not just the wick needs breaking in or the flavour being ruined by the heat? Wicks can take a while to lose the cotton taste and not all juice works well at high watts low ohms.

I agree except I would use 8 wraps and make it a spaced coil

Don't mean to sound dumb but what's a spaced coil

rekimz, no such thing as a dumb question - a spaced coil isn't difficult but not something I would suggest for a new member just learning to build/wrap.

It's where you have the wire separated and not touching itself:

I have no real coil experience, however, have your read all the coil info in the FAQ Section?
... Guide to Rebuilding.
... How Should I Build My Coils?
... What the Heck is Ohm's Law?

Another useful thread is,
... How do you dip yer wick?

Here's a great online tool for calculating Ohm's Law and coil resistance.
... Steam Engine Ohm Calculator

Actually spaced coils are rather simple. Build a single coil and then just pull it apart a bit ... I do it all the time. Use a screwdriver to space out if needed and make it so-so even.

I don't know what cotton I have(brandwise, it is Japanese Organic Cotton, though), but when I first wick it up, it tastes slightly sweet? With it's own flavor of sweet though. After I "Break in" the cotton, it's just the juice. Any insight on this?
