Got a great deal today
A friend of mine decided he wanted a Mutation X V3 today. He was $10 short and the store only had one left, so he asked me if I had $10 on me. I kindly offered to buy his Mutation X V2 from him, since he was "upgrading". So I am now the proud owner of a matte black anodized Mutation X V2.

I am currently vaping the last of his chocolate mint flavored 3mg 98%VG juice, then I plan to clean it very well, re-coil and re-wick, and then go back to 98% VG Spearmint at 6 nic. I am considering going to dual parallel coils or possibly twisted 24g wire. This will be my cloud chasing atty, eventually. First, I have to build up lung capacity and learn the ropes. This thing has freakishly huge amounts of airflow compared to my drilled out Patriot clone.

Anyone have any suggestions as far as coils go?

Thanks! So far I am loving this thing. Only problem is figuring out how often to drip, because the taste of burnt cotton is horrible. I should have it figured out by this evening, though.

That's a killer deal, I'm super jealous right now Wink

WWhat kind of mod are you using it with? My Mutation X (first version) works great with dual parallel coils, 8-9 wraps of Parallel 28ga blows giant clouds. I wouldn't suggest it on a box mod, but it's great for mechs. Just be careful and measure the resistance because I've had some builds end up way too low.

Michael: Using it on a Nemesis with a Sony VTC4 battery. Measured the resistance on the current build at 0.4 ohms.

Oh yeah with that setup you'll be able to handle just about anything. In that case, parallel coils would work great, try to build them at around .25-.30 ohms and you'll be blowing clouds like crazy, and they still give great flavor too.

RE: Got a great deal today
Okay, so after having this thing on my mod for the last couple of weeks, I've got to admit to loving it. Burns through a little more juice than my old patriot atty, but kicks clouds like a fog machine. I get a lot more flavor with it than I did before, too.

I tried it with the same method I have always used for building coils (single strand 24 gauge 6 wraps around a 3mm drill bit) but it seemed to be burning too cold to vaporize the juice. So after talking to a friend who runs a local vape shop, I learned how to build twisted 24 gauge 5 wraps(2 coils). Hits SO MUCH BETTER now. Currently vaping at 0.46 ohms, and lasting about 5 hours between battery changes. Haven't stepped up to putting 4 coils in it yet, but it is visible on the horizon.

Nice one! I'm running a twisted 24g dual coil in one of my atties atm too and there's definitely something nice about that setup that brings out some more of the nuances in the flavour and generates more vapour.
