I was already planning on the 100mg Nic. Thanks for the tip on Heartland! I am going to start with Vanilla Custard and some other ones I can add to it, possibly Blackberry based on what you said on another thread! btw, Are you SURE you dont want to refer me to any of the FAQs!Sarcastic_hand

I thought kosher was just as good as USP food grade. Don, any info on the grades?

And Chum, congrats on getting into DIY mixing, I'm happy I could help Tongue

Which Vanilla Custard are you starting with? That's one flavor that often needs to steep for r a few weeks before it's any good. At least, so I've been told. I haven't used a vanilla Custard base before lol.
I have been looking for a thread I read here recently where someone was speeding up the steeping process by setting the bottle in hot water. Michael, you posted in it.
I am still partially undecided on flavorings as well. It is going to be November before I start mixing anyway, so plenty of time for research.

Thanks so much for reminding me of that! I had forgotten all about that but I mixed up a bunch of juice yesterday, time to throw a bottle in hot water for a while and see if it helps.

Got a bottle sitting in hot water right now, I'm gonna leave it for a bit and maybe heat the water up again after a while then try it side-by-side with an unsteeped bottle.

RE: Going to have to start DIY e-juice
Well it got late so I didn't get a chance to try it. I left it in the hot water for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Then took it out, let the bottle dry overnight. I'll try it in an hour or two when I get home from church.

Kosher is about what it is made from. In other words, does it comply with Jewish dietary requirements. Which has little or nothing say about its purity. Assuming what I think I know about Kosher rules is correct.

USP is more tightly specified. TBH, if I'm inhaling it I'd be happier with pharma grade.

Could you set up a cam so we could watch the steeping?

RE: Going to have to start DIY e-juice
So here's what happened. I heated up some water to steaming, and left the bottle in for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half last night. Then today, I did it again for about an hour. Then I let it cool/dry.

Looking at it side-by-side with another bottle mixed at the same time, the juice is a little bit darker, almost orange whereas the other bottle is more light pink. Flavor-wise, I can tell it's definitely a bit different, but it's hard to tell if it's the same as a bottle that's steeped naturally over time. Also, the plastic bottle got a bit of a frosted look to it, so I guess the hot water might have corroded the plastic a little bit, or maybe it's just fluoride build-up, idk.

That's all I've got. I don't really know if it's better or worse than juice that steeps over time, but it definitely has an effect.
