Gentle mod v2.1 beast box
And so it begins Training1

New circuit design (Should be updated and tidied soon)

The new mosfet's I found have a hugely lower impedance to the current acknowledged modmaker ones and are capible of greater load at lower temperature. Set sextuplet parallel they're capible of switching over 480A at 40v continuous. Putting that in vaping terms it'll work at over 19000W @.08!! (Can you say overkill Smile ) I'll be using 2mm thick solid 99% pure copper as the conductor, 10g battery leads, gold plated battery terminals and a copper 510. This will have the lowest volt drop I can achieve via P channel mosfet switch.

I'd need Don to tell me what sort of power my battery is capible of, but needless to say that my circuit won't even know it's been switched on at the battery's max power!.

4800mAh 7.4V (2S pack) and 70C

I'm reckoning 70C will be for burst use - but given that 70C discharge rate means complete discharge of the cell in 51 seconds...

So 70C is 70x4800mA = 336A. At full charge (8.4V) = 2.8kW

For 51 seconds.

6.05kW.

For 30 seconds. At those power levels, I'd half expect the battery to detonate and would be glad that it was in an RC model heading away from me at great speed Smile

Those new silicone graphene cells are quite something else!

The KSU researchers claim that the electrode has a capacity of approximately 600 miliampere-hour per gram or 400 miliampere-hour per cubic centimeter of the electrode after 1020 cycles. The researchers expect that the power density (the maximum amount of power that can be supplied per unit mass) will be more than three times that of today’s Li-ion batteries.

Making some cardboard templates for the conductors.

It's going to be tough to cut such heavy gauge copper plate, I really dont want to have to do it twice because I got it wrong!

Copper sheet is pretty soft. Unless it is some sort of harder alloy.

The sheet copper I've played with could be cut with a Stanley knife.

True - that's into shears or guillotine territory.

I imagine you are better placed than most for forming and shaping sheet metal though.
