RE: Gentle mod #2
Hopefully soon. I've cleared up my issues with the IRS so should be getting my tax return soon, then I'll have a little bit of play money to mess around. Mine won't be nearly as nice/fancy as yours, I'm thinking I'll just do a LiPo mech in a wooden box, no frills for my first time around. Then maybe once I've got the hang of modding, I'll try with a ModMeter. Also someday I'd love to make a regulated LiPo squonker, but that's way out of my league at the moment, seeing as how I have enough trouble wiring simple circuits without adding a DNA chip. Plus with a regulated mod that's a lot more expense for the chip, and I'd want it to be the finest like a DNA200.

Im tempted to use the smok primus chip.. 300W of lurve Give_heart2 I could buy the whole device cheaper than a dna chip!

RE: Gentle mod #2
Time's been short recently but I've made a little progress.
Master switch and charge circuit are mounted to stay. Full disclosure, although I had been quite meticulous while applying the glue some managed to capillary into the charge board plug, I thought I'd scrapped it! Took over half an hour to get it all out Dodgy

RE: Gentle mod #2
Update.

There were a few issues when I dry ran the mod mostly built, a few small tweaks would sort most out but the biggest issue was the fets were getting really quite hot, this allied to the fact they sit almost touching the battery meant another internal design rethink was needed.

So I approached an electronics engineer for help. What he came up with means my fets stay relatively cool while being thinner than my dual fet arrangement so there's no way it'll heat the battery.

Here's my new fet circuit, capible of safely dissipating the battery at maximum discharge rate with almost no resistance.. I've no clue exactly what that equates to but I'm sure that's a lot of POWER Sun_bespectacled

Sourcing the new components is a pain, non of the suppliers take PayPal Huh

As long as he sends it to me I don't care. Good

Yup. 4 'fets, 5 metal film resistors and a ceramic capacitor. P channel mosfet's have a higher internal resistance than N channel so yours won't need this, it's P channel only for me because of the modmeter
Awsome looking circuit though isn't it Big Grin it doesn't include the touch switch, charger board or master switch either! Can't wait to get started on it.. just need a source for the bits.

CPC - They are a division of Farnell so should have all you need.
