FDA deeming regs and August of this year? What..?
My local vape shop says that as of THIS August, they can no longer offer custom blended flavors becuase of the deeming regs?  That the cutoff for a "new product" is this August?

I THOUGHT WE HAD 2 YEARS??!!!

I thought we had two years as well.  Definitely something needs research.  Nothing flies faster on the internet than misinformation.

Some things go into effect in August, others go into effect in two years. If I recall correctly, I think it's that old products can still be sold for up to two years, but I don't think they can introduce new products starting in August. But I may be totally off.

Apparently, new flavors of juice are a "new product", and custom blends are a thing of the past as of that date.

Fuck the man.  This is ridiculous.

I forget, are the DIY juice products covered by this FDA scam?  Is Nic going to be outlawed?  I need to go back and read the FDA regs, but it would just make me mad all over again.

Since I doubt that nic has a short shelf life, I think it may be a good idea to pick up some and keep it on-hand....seems all of the other ingredients should be easy enough to get anytime..... and I seriously doubt that the anti-vaping gestapo are going to be busting down doors for the small guy who isn't selling commercially and only mixing for personal use...

Any suggestions on where to get a litre (or for those on the south side of the 49th a quart) of nic?

Fatboy, I've been doing google searches on all the US Web vendors that carry DIY juice components and started comparing prices.  You can find lots of options that way.  You might check the mixology section.  Lots of talk on where and what to buy.  I know that will be next vaping step.  Here's a good thread.  http://www.thevapingforum.com/Thread-Cos...ng-e-juice

Thanks Bibliora, I found it on Nicvape...could be an issue with importing into Canada but I have a work-around...I can have it shipped to a buddy in upstate NY and bring it across the border in person (not tell my wife of my plan OR since my wife is a licensed customs broker (Canada & USA) I have full confidence she can find a way to process the paperwork...she vapes too Smile

RE: FDA deeming regs and August of this year? What..?
I thought this article might give a little more info on the topic.

Attempted flavour ban shows FDA threat to vaping worse than feared
Leading health experts are agreed that the Food & Drug Administration’s recent “deeming regulations” are a disaster for smokers who want to switch, but newly released earlier drafts show that the FDA’s intentions are even worse than the published law suggests.
The FDA rules have a two-year grace period in which existing vape gear and liquids can still be sold, allowing manufacturers to at least try to get approval to keep selling them. However it’s now emerged that the FDA originally wanted to exempt flavoured liquids from that – all flavours, except tobacco, were due to be banned within 90 days of the law going into force this summer. A flavour ban is a key aim of the FDA’s claims that vaping is a gateway to smoking and many in the agency are determined to see it imposed.
What’s worrying many vapers is that while the flavour ban doesn’t appear in the final version of the regulations, it wasn’t removed by the FDA themselves – the White House’s Office of Management and Budget took it out. There’s nothing to stop the FDA reinserting it after the law goes active on the 8th of August, so the end of vaping in the USA could be even closer than feared.
