Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
Guys,

Eleaf istick 40w TC mated to eleaf GS-tank.

Currently using in TC mode with 0.15ohm coil, temps used generally between 450 to 500F. Have been experimenting. Resistance locked btw.

The hits are very very inconsistent to say the least. Some have flavor, some do not. Some seemed every so slightly burned but the next hit will not be. The coil was installed yesterday and primed correctly etc etc. It's almost like the coil does not absorb enough juice between hits. The juice holes are tiny in my opinion and there are only two. The coils are also tiny, at least to me.

The current juice is lost art liquids gummy glu 60/40 but also tried a tank of the naked Hawaiian pog at 70/30 and same result. Can't get consistent vape quality.

One of my 1.2ohm coils was a dud (the other I think was done) and only have 0.15 left so switched to TC mode so I can still vape.

I am looking into getting a better tank but wanted your thoughts on this issue.

Thanks

RE: Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
The eleaf 40's tc isn't the best tbh, 50/50 juice and turn it down to under 400° is about as good as it gets.
450-500° is hot enough to burn cotton, if your right and it's starved of juice you'll be getting a singed tone to the flavour.

RE: Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
Everything you mention makes total sense.

The down side, locally no shops carry 50/50 which is what i was looking for to start off with. If I turn down the 400 degrees there is practically no vapor, that is where I started TC wise.

Hopefully tomorrow I can borrow one my coworkers spare 1.2ohm coils to get back to more normal vaping until I get another tank or grab some coils locally and then get another tank lol.

What does TBH stand for?

^^ Boy I feel stupid hahahaha. Currently vaping at 400 degrees which feels like an ice cube is in my tank hahaha. Gonna go up to 450 and leave it till tomorrow as it's bearable for the time being. 500 no way!

RE: Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
Ive just realised its °f not °c, 450 should be fine, sorry my bad Punish
Some tc coils do seem to be a much cooler vape, can't really justify why though.
You could try taking a hit on it with out pressing the fire button, then take your powered hit. It'll act to prime the coil ready for the power.

RE: Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
Yes, I am running at 450F not C.

You know, maybe these coils are just not of the best quality, most stores near me don't even carry them.

The 1.2ohm coils seemed much better for some reason running at about 13.5 to 14 watts.

Quick question, does it lessen the life span of an above ohm coil if one uses it for DTL vs MTL.

Thanks

Yes. To DTL with a 1.2 coil will be hard. You'll need to open the air flow and increase the wattage. Vaping at a higher wattage range than the coil can handle will decrease it's life time.

RE: Eleaf GS-Tank inconsistent hits
So I did an experiment today, put in a new 0.15ohm coil (primed correctly), set the temp at 450F, and took 1 hit after the other seeing what happened as the hits continued. Mind you you can't take huge hits on this tank with this mod.

By the 4th hit, flavor was gone and vapor seemed dry. Let the mod sit for for a few minutes, maybe ten and took another hit and all was fine, repeated and same thing happened.

My theory is that after a few hits, the coil cannot absorb juice fast enough to keep up with vaping. As I said the coil holes are tiny and for a DTL coil only has two holes. I guess it gets starved quickly. Not exactly why they would make a coil function like this but at least this his how it works for me.

Obviously I am moving away from this tank but interesting to know before I wasted money getting more coils where the money can be spent on a new tank.

Now maybe this wouldn't happen with 50/50 but am currently using 60/40.
