Efest IMR 18650 2600mah 40A Battery - Flat Top
Efest IMR 18650 2600mah 40A Battery - Flat Top

Well that's what the ad says "New In" Ive read a few posts around here saying that those claiming to be 30A or so are just lies. That said, this is a UK company, who suppose to tell the truth as we have trading standards Sarcastic_hand

The more I search the less I know, and its difficult to trust anyone now Smile Ive decided to buy some gear for a better vapor experience, and watched more and more youtube videos, no sooner I pick something, someone else says there is something better..

So working from the ground up, I need a good battery, probably one that's twice as much as I need, I love Sony products, and Samsung, and have seen Sony vaping batteries.

So Im getting a Aspire Triton Tank 2 soon, but I bought an RTA system, so can have the choice of building my own coils.

Not yet decided on the controller box, like that colour touch box mod (SMY)

So right now Im asking about these claims, and what Mah I can expect to be true, don't really want any make recommendations as I think we all have our preferences.

So what can I trust to be true ? 40A ? 50000Mah ? whats real and whats just talk?

Thanks again

Wheres don when you need him?? Tongue

18-20c 2600-3000mah is about as good as it gets for power and longevity. Lghg2 vtc5
20-30c 1200-2000mah for just power. Sony vtc3,4 lghb2
With a few middle ground cells that have good all round performance. Lghe2, 4 Samsung 25r
And numerous re-wraps of the above.. but they're a risky business to get 'propper' cells

Amp rating is a misnomer, and usually false or just misportrayed. Only the c rating counts Wink

Ah, had to look up the C rating bit, ok so a battery labeled 3800 would be false claims...

I bought some "Ultrafire" brc 18650 5000mah batteries on ebay :- well I new they were not anywhere near that, but they are protected, and just for some LED torches, so OK

Ive had them a while now, use a Nitecore D4 to charge them, well recently they charge in 55 Min, and dont last long anymore, probably 500Mah now

So going to look at those C ratings then

Update, so a 10C 3000mah battery would be 30A?

Ok, looked up the LGHG2 says;
"LGHG2 18650 high capacity 20A 3000mAh 3.7v lithium battery"

But looking for the C rating, can only see;
Rated Capacity 3000mAh (0.5CA Discharge)

CA ? and only 0.5

Standard Discharging Circuit 0.2C A
Max Discharging Current 20 A

So I have to take it that it is a 20A C rating?

I'm currently using MXJO  18650 3.7v 3000mah batteries. These are the best I've ever had. My mod requires three and they last me all day with heavy vaping. Anything over 3000mah I've found to be exaggerated. Don't know if that helps but I hope it does.

RE: Efest IMR 18650 2600mah 40A Battery - Flat Top
I think some 18650's do go up to 5000mah... but they're not suitable for vaping
Mah is just a reflection of how long the cell will last during a discharge, not how powerful the battery is. Most of the more powerful batteries have low Mah,  hence them not being used as daily drivers but for comps etc.
C rating is its Continuous discharge rate.
2c?! Lol. I think I may have over stated the hg2's a bit but not by that much! 15-18 sounds more likely, I'll check.

I've read mxjo's are a rewrap of lghg2's. Their site makes out they manufacture them,  but I have my doubts. Don will know more I suspect.

Just reread your post.. ^Absolutely not! 10c can work but only at low watts and only LI-ION safe chemistry like IMR will do.

You'll find the best batteries don't have their vital stats plastered all over the wrapper to entice inexperienced vapors to buy them Wink they're primarily produced for packs in things like laptops etc, there aren't any I can name MADE for the consumer vaping market.

RE: Efest IMR 18650 2600mah 40A Battery - Flat Top
Where vaping cells are concerned, there are only two brands I trust: LG and Samsung. Samsung 25Rs are my go-to cells, they can easily handle up to 20A and have 2500mAh capacity. LG HE2, HE4 and HG2 are all good cells as well, I use them in my single 18650 mods. Sony cells are good, if you can find authentic ones, but there are so many fakes it's not even worth trying to find real ones, and some places sell fakes while calling them authentic. Most other cells (Efest, etc) are either crappy Chinese cells, or rewrapped cells with dangerously overstated specs. I've heard rumors of a few other good ones coming out, but until I've heard verification from people testing them, I won't trust anything besides LG and Samsung.

Tl;dr - get yourself some Samsung 25Rs or LG HG2s/HE2s/HE4s.
