Dye Coming off tank
So I bought some colored glass tanks some time ago, today I noticed the dye is flaking off. If its going to happen then it will happen to me.

I'm guessing that when I wash the glass I usually have a hot water tap running and wash it all over, then use a tissue to dry everything.

A few times the hot water was too hot to touch, so I recon its lifting the dye, not dissolving it, coming off in flakes, see what FT says, but not read you should only use cold water...

Not listed as Pyrex tanks, and I don't think Pyrex do colors anyway.. So if you bought some, careful how you clean them :0

P.S
How to remove the rest of the dye.. Coming next watch this space Cray2

RE: Dye Coming off tank
So, I decided to have a go at recovering this, and found some green glass window tint, found on ebay for £1.99 for an A4 sheet.

Cut the strip to the right width

Next get the length and a bit more

Now drop the strip into a cup of hot water and let it soak a min, then peel off the backing. Wrap around glass while still wet.

I then wrapped it with tissue and put some bands on it just in case it moved

Job done

I think this is going to last much longer than those paint/dye coated ones :0 There is a small line at the join, but hardly noticeable
