Do you Sucralose? I do.
I just wondered how many of you have tried using Sucralose as a sweetener? It's one of the things that I have used for a long time that I often take for granted in the DIY process.

So do you Sucralose too?

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

RE: Do you Sucralose? I do.
Never tried it though it might well be in some of the flavour concentrates I've used. Ethyl maltitol is what I've used. A little of it goes a very long way.

Ethyl maltitol is pretty good too, they both go a very long ways actually. I should state that a it's easy to use too much and destroy a good batch of juice.

I've never used it.  THe flavors I use probably already have something similar in them.

RE: Do you Sucralose? I do.
I tried a home made custard from scratch. It was noxiously sweet. I've just found the cure, Nanny Bakes (eBay UK) rhubarb concentrate. Add 5% of that and it's lovely. The custard has had forever to steep, just threw the rhubarb essence in and vaped away. Lovely!

When I was a kid, rhubarb and custard was fed to me at least once a week.

Don't think this is going to get steeped at all.. Smile

Mmmmmm Rhubarb.

My Mom makes the best Rhubarb and strawberry pie ever. When I was a kid she used to bake a half dozen of them at a time, I'm not kidding I could eat an entire pie. But a hot car, a belly full of pie and a Dad that smoked like a nut wasn't the best combination for me. One of my early childhood memories was ralphing up half a pie onto my sisters lap while on a long trip. 40 years later she still gripes about it. LOL

RE: Do you Sucralose? I do.
My mother always ruined rhubarb as she couldn't stand to serve it without ginger in it. IMO ginger has no place in sweet stuff, but is utterly essential in curries...

In fact my mother added ginger to just about all fruit. She still does at 82.

RE: Do you Sucralose? I do.
Ginger is great in Curries. I use a lot of Ginger and Turmeric as well.

I also ended up with a taste for Spicy food. My wife's Mother is Mexican/Portuguese and her and her Mother are great cooks but love the spicy stuff. Not on everything of course but on enough stuff that I have grown to really like it. I grew up on rather bland food in comparison. My Father's parents were Scottish and English and my Mother's were Polish and Russian. Not exactly know for spicy food. My wife also has Swedish, German and Irish blood. So my kids are really mutts. There is actually a few more in there mixed in as well. We did our families tree a while back and it's quite the mix. I love how all the cultures have added to our choice of food, especially on holidays.

I'll never forget staying with a Sri Lankan friend in London. Her son made himself scrambled eggs then took the nuclear chilli sauce (This stuff should only be handled by trained, licensed professionals with the proper protective gear) and squirted it all over - he now had red scrambled eggs that would blow your head off. The result was probably 30% chilli by weight.
