RE: Debbie
I expect to see a pic of you holding the baby in the "What did you get today?" thread when it comes Tongue

Seriously, it's good to hear from you again. I'm glad you like this, I was afraid I might have gone a bit too off-topic with the soapbox. So sorry to hear about your father-in-law, I'm sure it's hard especially so soon after everything with Debbie. Keep your chin up, mate.

Phlash, for what it's worth, this is the positive and awesome side to the internet - we all know and have seen the negative side and the impact on society in general - this group, our community, spans throughout the USA, Canada, the UK, Scotland and beyond.

In a way this bond was increased because of you and your heart breaking loss....and for many, if not most/all of us, it made us realize even more so, how precious life is, how short it is, and how we can all be impacted and affected by such tragedy yet many of us have been fortunate - and we need to reflect and appreciate that - and be thankful - her legacy will live on, with all of us along with you and yours.

I hear ya loud and clear. We are at the beginning stages now, he just sent the block and heads to Memphis to get drilled and magnafluxed, it's gonna be around 600 cubic inches. It's gonna run on a low percentage nitro mix, and long story short we are shooting for around 4500 hp. He hasn't decided on a body yet, he's leaning toward either a Nissan 300ZX or 370Z, partly for the aerodynamics and partly cause it's just weird. The downside to all this is that he and his wife are thinking about moving to Memphis, and that will leave me out in the cold, fun-wise, so I naturally tell him it's a monumentally bad idea. So crap! Not cool. Sorry, rambling again.

Hi Bibs. thank you for the flowers (old trucker slang there, be cool if it catches on). I'll try to make up for their shortcomings haha. I know this is kind of off topic, but I wish those two could have been with me last Friday night, my son and I went to a  Halloween costume party at my brother-in-laws biker gang clubhouse, where we are both honorary members. They had an all girl costume party, and let me tell you, when you turn loose a bunch of drunk biker babes, we got real boobies, asses, and everything else flying all over the bar! You might not have enjoyed that part very much, but the senior members had a large time. We even caught a couple old farts dry-humping in the corner. It eventually died down, so at around midnight we went bar hopping the rest of the night, got home just before sunrise. That was the most fun I have had in a long, long time. Really wish you guys could have been  there. sorry I haven't been around much lately, I promise I'll try to do better, it doesn't take much to start missing you all. Sorry, rambling again.

Phlash, only cops call them "gangs" - they are "motorcyle enthusiasts" Smile Just because a man and his woman wear leather, stitch a brotherhood patch on the back and maybe some tats doesn't make them a gang! Sad

You have now seen firsthand that it's not a place where motorcycle enthusiasts slaughter small pets, perform sadistic rituals and snort kilos of drugs - merely a place where some young ladies dance, show what the good lord gave them (or the talents of a good plastic surgeon) some booze, a great time had by all - not much different from many other social clubs. Smile

You are exactly right, my friend. I only threw in the "gang" for a bit of impact, and it's only the local bible thumpers who call them that. In truth they are some of the best people I know, they are responsible for much of the fundraising in our small community and they are always ready to "cross the aisle" and work with the local churches, fire department (where I was assistant chief for fifteen years until my crippling neck injury in '99), two local bars and an enormous grain company owned by Nutrena. I was not able to get funeral insurance due to my wife's poor state of health, so between them and one of the bars, they managed to raise at last count over three thousand dollars to help cover funeral expenses. and at the moment they and the fire dept. are trying to raise enough money to cover the expense of our headstone. We already have burial plots side by side, and Debbie was adamant about having a husband and wife headstone, and they are pretty high, about fifteen hundred for what she wanted. Other than raising money to cover club expenses, they spend most of their time doing toy runs and food drives and such. So the old saying goes you can't judge a book by it's cover, truly applies to them. I have had to depend on their help only because I have acquired a mountain of hospital bills and had to partially mortgage my house to pay the balance of the funeral home bill. Sorry I am rambling yet again. One other thing. This is an organized group of about forty people, not counting supporters, and they are sponsored by the Outlaws, their regional chapter is in Clarksville, Tenn, and their home base is in Chicago, I think. I'm not sure though, but I do know they number in the thousands.
