RE: DNA200 - Low battery
So I also posted about this on Evolv's forums (here's a link), and was told that it looks like the battery is worn out and needs replacing. Sooo, does anyone know where I can find a replacement LiPo? Google has failed me. There are a lot of threads with people asking where to find a replacement battery, and no one has gotten any answer from what I've seen. I know enough to know that I can't just go buy a 3s1p 11.1V LiPo and expect it to fit, maybe I should just tear down the mod and measure the battery's dimensions.

I would take the opportunity to customize the mod by converting it into a 2 18650 mod.....simple conversion with a dremel and a solder gun. Smile

Measuring it isn't a bad idea mike, though I suspect it was a custom job and not just off the shelf. You can get them made, that's the first one on the g search, there'll be some more local to you where you can buy a single pack I'm sure Smile

He can order it and pick up when he is over on that side of the pond later this year. Smile

Yeah... I mean, I wouldn't mind it as a 2x18650 mod, but I really like it as a LiPo mod. And with 2x18650, that would lower the max wattage and I so enjoy being able to push 150W with 0.12 ohm twisted wrapped fused claptons.

I'm honestly thinking about just getting a Triade and cutting my losses with the Panzer. It's kind of depressing having my nicest mod screw up.

RE: DNA200 - Low battery
Update: I just took the mod apart, which was unsettlingly easy. It was like 5 screws holding the whole thing together.

Anyway, there was quite a bit of moisture in there, I think some juice had gotten in there somehow. But I don't think the circuits were fried or anything, everything looks just fine. But at least now I know what kind of battery it is and how big it needs to be. I'm thinking about taking it to HobbyKing and seeing if they have anything in stock that fits the specs. I'll post pics of the guts if anyone's curious. It's a FullyMax 20c 1500mAh 3S 11.1V 16.7Wh LiPo (35x68x28mm by my measurement). It looks like it's damaged, there's a torn-up part at the end of the battery.

RE: DNA200 - Low battery
If I remember rightly, you need more like 35C at that capacity. From memory a DNA200 maxes out at 55A.

Which may explain the short life of the pack.

HobbyKing will have something suitable.

RE: DNA200 - Low battery
Yeah that's what I was thinking Don, the amps seemed a bit low. I think I figured out what went wrong. The end of the battery has a puncture, which lines up with the 510. My guess is I used too high amps without realizing it, which could have made the battery swell up, pushing the end into the 510 and damaging the third cell. So I'll try to find a slightly smaller pack if I can, though idk if they'd have a smaller one that would still have the specs I need... This is frustrating.

Didn't you get that from FT? Have you contacted them about a replacement?
