Cuboid + TFV8
I have the Cuboid 150W mod. Went out and got a TFV8 tank, known as the cloud beast. Massive coils. Anyhow, I have the 8-coil head installed, it reads .15 ohms. But I can only get the Cuboid to go to 93 watts in Power mode. I have the latest firmware installed. Any ideas? Maybe switch over to temp control? NOt sure if these coils can do temp control. Thanks.

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
Welcome to the forum!

I don't have the Cuboid, but I'm pretty sure a couple of our members do, so hopefully they'll be along shortly to help you out. In the meantime, I just wanted to say hello and welcome Smile

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
Welcome to TVF kona, although I don't have the Cuboid 150w I have tried it several times. Pretty good mod - I do have the TFV8 - the cloud beast is imho one of the best tanks on the market - also one of the biggest juice beasts!

Depending on what juice you're vaping, the TFV8 with the recommended 100W-120W setting for the coils, you'll need a decent supply of juice but also spare batteries...get a decent external battery charger as well....

Welcome to the forum Kona and thanks for posting. I don't have a cuboid either so can't be of help there. Is it a coil for use with TC only?

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
The cuboid has a limit on the amps. You can not go higher than 25 amps and on a .15 ohm coil it limits you to 93 watts. If you used a .25 coil you could go higher. It's a silly limitation on the cuboid for me. I gave my cuboid away BUT I use mechs so I have no intention of following any limits I don't set myself. As a new vaper you are protected by the cuboid. It will never overheat or cause you a problem.

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
So I am stuck at 93 watts. Great. I think I should have bought a different tank, or keep my R200X mod. I like to vape the TFV8 at 80. But it leaks so bad. Does it hurt the coil to use it at such a low setting? Any other work around for the mod?

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
It's a safety feature. There is no workaround. Nothing stops you from vaping the beast at max power though.

RE: Cuboid + TFV8
kona, use the TFV8 build deck - ( have the same tank) the pre-installed coils on my deck came in at 0.24 thread starts here I was running @80W with killer flavour....I went 10 days before I had to re-wick and that was running 30ml+ per day.... Smile Where you may not be completely please with your Cuboid, the TFV8 will keep you happy vaping! Smile

As a random side note, did any of the vaping veterans ever think we'd say these two sentences even just a year ago? Man, vaping has evolved quickly. I love it!

Kona, it doesn't hurt coils to vape at lower power than recommended. It just might not produce as much vapor, but if you like it then by all means go for it.
