RE: Coil gunk?
No - but I don't use sweeteners. So it's easy to blame them Smile

RE: Coil gunk?
Ok, I switched line of juice for two days with a coil dip and wick. Used cuttwood sugardrizzle. Went through 30 ml in 2days for testing. Not really gunked but dirty, no burnt cotton in center middle. When I dipped the coils in distilled water, nothing really came off, this is two days.

As everyone said, its something in w/e juice I guess.

RE: Coil gunk?
Update to this old thread, to get a final hand on things...

Yes, unequivocally, it is the sweeteners in the juice. I wasn't absolutely accurate back when I said it happens with every juice, no matter what. I realized looking back that many if not all of the juices I used then probably had a bit of sucralose. When I used it in a recipe again a year after this thread was last active, I found that I had the same old gunk and the cotton burnt out of the center within one tankful. No doubt the sweetener. For anyone who may peruse this thread with the same issue, this will help solve a puzzle. There was nothing I was doing wrong from a build or vape perspective that caused this. It is sweetener.

Unless you are hopelessly addicted to sweetened juices and don't mind very frequent deck cleaning, then avoid using sweeteners, especially over 1%. There are many good alternatives that will help you achieve the desired sweetness without having to use those coil killers.
