Sad Coil Building question.
I have a problem that I was wondering if anyone can help me with. I have been building Micro Coils per instructions on youtube by Riptrippers, I have 30 ga Kanthal A1 wire, and well they do not want to work on my ego c twist batteries. I have batteries that came my Puff kit which they work with, and my Criss cross kit which they also dont work with, and on the Puff Battery they chuck vapor like mad, but when i put them on my Ego twist C, the light just blinks and it doesn't work, and i was hoping maybe someone could tell me why?

The coil is not touching metal, and is 12 wraps on "the little blue screwdriver" that came with my Lotus RTA clone atomizer. I cant afford a Mod that tells me ohms or is adjustable past 4.8v so i am lost as to what the issue could be. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

RE: Coil Building question.
My guess is that the coils are on the edge of acceptable for resistance. I'd try with around ten wraps which should still be in the 2.4 ohm ballpark.

Do you think the Ohms are too High or too low for my batteries?

Thanks, I do have an Ohm tester on the way, but its coming from China, so it could take as much as another 14 days before it gets here, and honestly i dont want to burn through all my Kanthal wire re wrapping coils till i hit one that works, and well i know very little about Ohms, resistance, etc im learning, but slowly. So i dont know if more wraps lowers or raises the ohms, or how much the diameter of the wire effects it, etc.

I focused more on mixing my own e juice from the start and have just recently got into building my own coils and rebuilding my own coil heads for my cheaper tanks.

RE: Coil Building question.
Basically, the more wire you have (as long as the diameter of the wire stays the same), the higher the resistance. Thicker wire has lower resistance than thinner wire the lower the gauge number the lower the resistance.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes it a whole lot easier, and it also tells me i need to get some 28g wire instead of this 30g wire i have lol

RE: Coil Building question.
Welcome to the forum Vance! Here's another coil tool that I like to use, though it does essentially the same thing as the one Don suggested. http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/

Glad to see you're getting things squared away Smile
