RE: Cleito 120 coils
Remember when I said metal blobs.. it's a non resistance - resistance - non resistance wire I'm sure. The 'nr' section is stainless while the 'r' section is kanthial, the blob is where they're DC welded together. No chance of tc there I'm afraid. Nea

If I'm wrong, and without propperly examining it myself I could be, the only other thing it could be is 20g nichrome, though there's no tc option there either.

Don't forget to apply for the freecycle section!

Thanks Gently, I wouldn't of thought that they would weld a section like that...was a learning experience experiment for sure....what is the benefit of the added section?

RE: Cleito 120 coils
Hot legs. No not you fb, though I've heard they're all fine and dandy, I mean the coil. 'r' all the way through will heat the hardly cotton covered tails. There's also higher total resistance with a single wire because it's so long, unless they use very thick wire and thats not always practical given the available space and the fact it consumes greater amounts of power and stays hotter longer.

nr-r-nr wire became popular with the first wave of rta's a few years back. Not hugely popular with builders now but factory coils seem to get over several potential problems by using them.
