Cleito 120 coils
at https://www.vaporworld.biz/accessories/aspire-cleito-120-coil-5-pack/ they specifically state that "The Aspire Cleito 120 Replacement Coil Head is made of stainless steel clapton coils. " .
Other places I have seen the coils listed as Kanthal.
Does anyone have the straight skinny?  I would love one of these tanks if it could TC..

RE: Cleito 120 coils
If anyone has an old coil to pull apart we can find out if its tc suitable quite easily.

Don't forget to apply for the freecycle section!

Walk me through it, I have a container full - plan on recycling them...or melting the coils down one day and building a car! Smile

I don't know how you would tell the metal of the coil by looking at it.

RE: Cleito 120 coils
Pull the connection end out and you should get two tails exposed to pull on, yank those and the coils out Smile

It'll collapse a bit on the way so you'll need to carefully unwind it and measure the length. Check there aren't any metal blobs on the wire close to the ends. That'll mean it's nr-r-nr, if it does have those its kanthal and measuring it is pointless.

RE: Cleito 120 coils
Practice, experience, trying to melt it, chemical testing - it isn't hard to test for iron - which both Kanthal and SS contain.

By its length and resistance I'll know Wink

RE: Cleito 120 coils
There is the buy some of the SS coils and see if they work in TC. Just a thought.

RE: Cleito 120 coils
Okay so the 0.16 coil was dual wire - looks like 24g and 14.5cm long. Darnest thing, in the centre of the length of wire is a fused wire measuring 5cm long that appears soldered or somehow affixed...
