Class Action suit against Five Pawns
Thoroughly deserved IMO.

http://tortstoday.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11...rmful.html

A UK vendor called Cloud 9 (Now Creme de Vape) paid to have the liquids they sold tested. Five Pawns extremely expensive juice turned out to have ridiculous amounts of diacetyl and acetyl propionyl neither of which are safe to inhale, though perfectly safe to eat.

Meanwhile Five Pawns kept denying everything. A lot of vendors got burned dumping unsellable juice at ultra-premium prices from them.

This has exactly nothing to do with justice - my father was head of the Faculty of Law at the local university. This is to do with revenge and putting down a marker about what is and is not acceptable.

This will set a precedent in the industry and hopefully will highlight the importance of eliquid manufacturers carrying out full and proper independent and professional testing of their products.

Screw 'em.

Remind one liberal per day, that laws affect only the law-abiding.

Ouch. Still, if you're not being honest with people what can you expect. Being lied to is horrible at the best of times, let alone when you're purchasing something you ingest or inhale that you wouldn't have wanted in your body had you known.

I can't help but wonder if this still would've happened if they'd just been truthful and let people decide for themselves, armed with all the information. Shame, I always really liked the way they presented themselves and I heard nothing but stellar reviews for their juice.

I reckon they'd still be selling the stuff if they had been honest though from (very fallible) memory at least one of their juices put out more DA/AP  than smoking 40 a day would give you.

I never tried the stuff because it was ludicrously expensive and they obviously spent a lot of money on marketing their products.

The real problem is that stunts like this bring forward the day when there will be compulsory testing of juices. At £100-150 per sample!

I was thinking the same thing - this is a precendent for mandatory tests on retail juice. Everything is going to get a lot more expensive. I agree 100% in being totally upfront with people, but life is going to get harder off the back of this

As much of a pain as the government it, I wouldn't mind some sort for mandatory testing policy. Shame the gov't will make is as painful and expensive as possible, but I figure, if I'm going to ingest it, I'd like some assurance that I can know what's in it first. Either way, shame on these clowns.

Like cigarettes and hot dogs, I know what's in them, but still consumed them.  The FDA regulated the truth in labeling in the food industry, and that doesn't stop the scary products from the checkout line.  There should be some form of testing on ejuices, because PV/VG and nic level doesn't seem to be painting an honest picture.

RE: Class Action suit against Five Pawns
It's no problem replacing Diacetyl with some other chemicals that do the same, at a small cost change.
