Morning all. Travel schedule has picked up and is keeping me away from the intertubes a lot.

How's everyone doing?

RE: Chat hub
powerful cold today , - 9 degrees now that it warmed up , couple that with 15 mph gusts , and you have what is to be the warm day of the weekend .
to think every one wanted me to go to the ice castles this weekend , glad im opposed to spending $20 to look at ice.

Why be normal when wierd is so much fun.

Howdy folks! It's a balmy 40°F here, I'm not sure why everyone is panicked about snow but you'd be hard pressed to find milk or bread in the stores right now.

Because, ya know, milk sandwiches are just the thing you need on a snow day. *smh*

My family is from Indiana, where they get real snow, so living down here in southeast TN, it's crazy to me how people just can't drive in snow. They freak out over a single flake. Last week we got an inch and all I heard the whole day was sirens.

same here , JFC this is new england 12" of snow isn't a disaster it's a minor inconvenience . yet the stores are packed , the milk cooler is empty and every one is worked up . actually heard a guy tell his wife " we better get 2 gallons of milk , there's no telling how long power will be out " ??? now isn't that special

RE: Chat hub
In the south of England, a few snowflakes are deemed a disaster. I was once staying in South London when there was an inch or so of snow. There was a big car park outside the house with around a hundred cars in it. In the following week only one of those cars moved at all.

During that week, it turned out that the two guys I'd shared a flat with in 1981 were both nearby, Rod in Reading and Hamish (Who normally lives in Hong Kong) in Windsor. I couldn't get a train into central London, let alone out to the west. And I'd flown down there so had no car with me. So we had a conference phone call instead.

Nobody bothers going to work in London if there has been any snow. The standard response is to abandon the car in the middle of the road after 4 snowflakes hit it. Later that week they had to run bulldozers along the M4 (Freeway) to clear off the abandoned cars before they could run the snowploughs through.

So here in Toronto it is -27 C today. God knows how cold with wind chill. And I have to take a bus and a subway to work. My thermal underwear is out.

Harley is a big lad - around 110b.

My two are smaller

Here he is in the foreground being told by Chester (With the turned out ear) that he's not getting on HIS sofa!
