RE: Chat hub
Yeah I've always enjoyed eating crappie, though the bluegill have killed off much of the crappie population in his pond since they breed so much and overrun the place, so now mostly we catch smaller crappie. The small ones get thrown back, and the bluegill get tossed on the bank for the birds because bluegill are evil. Seriously, someone put ONE bluegill in there a decade or so ago, and now they're more than 50% of the pond population even though he stocked it with bass and crappie. It's crazy.

I absolutely love fishing for bass in my uncle's pond though, he's got a 3-acre pond stocked with Crappie, Bass and some evil Bluegill. I'm more of a "throw the plastic fish as far as you can then reel it in slow and hope to catch something" kind of fisher, just sitting out there in a paddle boat with a rod in one hand and an iStick in the other (can't risk the good mods out there on the water) is probably the most relaxing feeling in the world even if I don't catch anything.

I do alsorts in the rivers i do just as much bait fishing and some spinning when the rivers over a certain height, pond/lake fishing is bait fishing to for coarse fish like carp/tench/pike the only type that is 100% fly fishing is trout fishing Tbh i couldn't choose a favorite way of fishing i like them all Smile That's one fish we don't have over here what you call bass the only bass we get is a sea fish

The only way i see of getting rid of them is quite drastic in small ponds is drain most of it then net them out or another way is them electric shock gadgets which just stunn the fish they come floating to the surface and you kill the species you don't want and after a few mins the rest recover and swim off Smile

RE: Chat hub
You want to try for a tigerfish. Native to Southern Africa and really determined fighters.

Not worth trying to eat one of less than 10lbs as that will contain about 8lbs of fine bones.
