The West tends to get the worst of it. Up here on the Right Coast, we get less rain than the Left Coast.

Good morning, USA! And good afternoon, UK, and good evening, Asia! Also good morning, South America, and good "middle of the night" Australia. (do we have anyone on here from Australia?)

Last night I finally got some coffee filters for my machine, my sister gave it to me for a wedding gift back in early December but I never got around to unboxing it til now. Ten minutes later I got the timer all set, grounds and water in, and this morning I woke up to the sound of boiling water and the smell of hot coffee...

Best morning ever. I need to start using this timer thing every morning, it's a good way to get my lazy ass out of bed Tongue

I really enjoy hot drinks, especially tea and coffee. I've got a French press, a teapot with a basket for loose leaf, and even a pour-over filter for making quick single cup coffee. But nothing beats waking up to that smell and a full pot ready to drink. Or in my case, pour in a giant Thermos before hitting the road for work.

RE: Chat hub
Scotland's west gets the worst of it as there's a ridge of mountains up the left hand side of Scotland. Our prevailing weather comes from the west across the Atlantic so when the wet air hits the mountains and gets forced up a bit it decides the water is too heavy and drops it on the west. There's a reason Glasgow is known as (among other things) Raintown.

Agreed on the coffee. I got given a ludicrously expensive bean to cup machine (I don't spend that much on cars) which does make a nice brew. Wake up, take the dogs out to pee, hit the button on the coffee maker. Stick a cup under it when I get back in, head for a pee and there's coffee ready about the same time as the flush. It is preprogrammed to dump two shots of espresso and a bunch of hot water into the mug. Faster than the kettle.

Don't do instant...

The only instant coffee I like is Nescafe Alta Rica - its nice and strong. I like the French Roast ground coffee but I really like my coffee very hot so it gets shoved in the microwave once it is in the cup.
