Strictly speaking we are an entirely metric country. However....

I buy milk in 4 pint containers that are sold as 2.2 litres. I buy coffee in half pound packages labelled 227g.

A US fluid ounce is a hair larger than a UK one. But a US pint to me looks about 3/4 of an imperial pint. A UK pint is 568ml, a US one is 473ml. A US fluid ounce is 29.57ml an Imperial one is 28.41ml.

But then you get into fun measurements like hogsheads (238.48l), gills (quarter Imperial pint, the US version is a hair smaller) and other strange measurements.

Afternoon All - no sun today - cloudy and quite chilly but it is dry and the garden is on the agenda for later - after lunch. It is grass cutting time. I hope you are all having a decent day.

RE: Chat hub
So I get frustrated when the weatherturds botch a forecast, but there's another side to it, too. Sometimes their botchery can hurt people.

We got another round of severe weather last night, it was all but unpredicted until late afternoon yesterday. This line was far worse than the day before.

As far as at the house, we got intense lightning, good thunder, a decent wind, and heavy rain. Not bad. But, the state capital fared far worse. We will check some of this out next week, as we drive through it on the way to the Ozarks. Shame on the weatherfrogs for missing this.

So, I have to ask Don't tread on me... Are you alright? I know you live there.

RE: Chat hub
Morning Everyone - nice and sunny this morning - perfect for me to start planting out the flower beds. I love the sun on my back when I am planting out the garden - I can take my time and sort out plant and colour patterns and take as long as I like over it - one of my favourite jobs in the garden[Image: smile.gif]. I will of course be drinking lots of tea and vaping well to give me inspiration[Image: tongue.gif]. I hope you all have a decent day.
