So expressway or interstate.

The nearest one to me is I75 it goes from the UP Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the Southern tip of Florida.

This is a pic of I75 in Detroit and a Pic of it at one of it's closest points to me Mackinaw City.

This is the mighty Mac (Mackinac Bridge in the summer and winter) This is generally the first spot that I hit the expressway on because I normally drive North and HATE driving South into the mess of traffic.

My wife hates this bridge. She closes her eyes all the way across. Good thing I don't usually have her drive across it. I-m_so_happy

This separates the UP from lower Michigan.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

It's a suspension bridge so when the wind blows really good it wobbles. Plus it's iron grating for half of it so you can look down through the road you are driving on and see the water. It's five miles long too.

Here is a good shot of the metal grating.

Awesome Big Grin

Don is partially correct about the speed targets, though you'll rarely find anyone sticking to them unless they have too. One thing all the americans I have met over here comment on is how fast we drive over here.

Unfortunately, my van has a speed limiter so I can't go much above 110mph. My old scorpii cosworth I built was good for 170mph given half a chance Yahoo

RE: Chat hub
That varies a lot. Round here the drivers are extremely aggressive but slow. And we have lots and lots of speed cameras.

The last Transit I drove had a rev limiter that let you get to 75mph in 6th then the engine went away. The day I found that out was not a good one. It turned out I had 15 back seat drivers behind me. Highest speed I ever saw on it was 100 which involved banging it off the rev limiter in every gear then dipping the clutch on a mile long 20-30% downslope. I never knew there was a bump at the bottom of that hill till the van became airborne. Funnily enough it turned out I had 15 back seat drivers again Smile

It also had a tachograph but some kind soul had wrecked it. But this was 30 years ago and there was no legal requirement for it to have a tacho.

Th M6 has certainly been improved by the removal of all the speed cameras north of Lancaster last time I was down that way (Which was 3 years ago on Tuesday when I went to pick up the Senior Assistant) Who is great in a car, by the time you've hit 30mph she's asleep.

Here she is in a Tesco car park while we went to get some doggy shampoo - she was stinking and it was a hot day. She'd been a breeding bitch in a commercial breeder's place and was terrified of everything. The first thing we did when she arrived was to give her a bath.

RE: Chat hub
She's a pretty small giant schnauzer (Around 70lb). Her partner in crime is the Swamp Thing (Officially Chester) who is another giant schnauzer (About 75lb) and a furry maniac. Ear cropping and tail docking are both illegal here hank goodness. Dieta is docked because it didn't become illegal in England until 2007 (2001 I think in Scotland) and she was born in 2006. Here are the two of them at play on the day I got Chester. He was 7 months old and had totally trashed his previous home so was rehomed to me.

My first giant schnauzer was the delightful Fizz who came to me as an old lady. She was a bit over 9 when she came and died in May 2011 aged 10 and a half. I was going to wait until 2012 to get a good giant puppy especially as I was spending a chunk of the summer in the US, but lasted three weeks before i couldn't stand the emptiness of the house any more and got Dieta. She spent the time I was away with the producer of the video.

This video was three weeks before Fizz died, she's in the very last second of it.

Fizz was much bigger (110lb).
