Question Charging times for Smok Aro VV 900mAh battery
Hiya folks! I'm new here and kind of new to vaping as well. My question is, when my Smok Aro VV 900mAh battery is fully dead, approximately how long does it take to charge it fully?
And is it wise to use my standard EVOD 650mAh non-vv charger with this new battery?
Thanks for the advice!

Hi Again Ben. Don our resident expert on batteries is offline at the moment so I will try and answer you. I've not used either but as I understand it a usb charger can be used with most devices. I use my original starter kit charger to charge my Aspire CF sub ohm battery without any problems. I would guess that from dead to fully charged would take 3-4 hours. So looking at the time you asked this question its probably charged if so you have your answer. I am sure the others on here who are more knowledgeable will be able to give a better reply. I hope this helps . Good

Hi Ben, welcome to TVF! Your standard eGo charger (if it's a good one) will be absolutely fine to charge the Smok and should take (approx) 1.5 hours to charge.

I hadn't noticed that bit Rob Tongue  generally you take the overall mah and divide it by the input charge then add a bit for the trickle charge near the end of the cycle which takes a bit longer.

Best you can ever come up with though is a guesstimate ballpark figure Big Grin

RE: Charging times for Smok Aro VV 900mAh battery
Hi and welcome goosesrh!

In general ego type chargers give 420mA. So it'll take a couple of hours to stuff in 900mAh. But most of the time in lithium cell charging is actually the final phase which adds 10-15% of the total capacity.

The way lithium cell chargers ought to work is constant current (Most ego chargers do 420-450mA) till the cell voltage hits 4.2V then let the current decay while holding the voltage constant at 4.2V till the current drops to about 5-10% of the original charge current. You will often see this referred to as CC/CV charging.

The constant voltage portion can take longer than the constant current portion. So 2-4 hours would be my guess.
