Can E-Juices Go Bad?
Might be a stupid question, but as some may have noticed, I’m not shy about asking those!

There’s not a liquid in my house (food, cleaning product or otherwise) that I’d not be wary about using after several months, but I read about people letting juices steep for 2-3 months, or Suicide Bunny’s Obsidian Edition Mother’s Milk which has been steeped for SIX months, supposedly making it $80 BETTER than regular Mother’s Milk. E-juice HAS to go bad or lose potency at least at some point, doesn’t it? Or worse, can it become poisonous?

There's no ‘I’ in ‘TEAM.’ There’s no ‘U’ either. It doesn’t appear the TEAM needs us, so let’s go grab a beer!Drinks

Stored properly Juice can last up to 2 years. You may see bottles that are dated for about a year but that's like when you buy milk it has a date but often lasts longer before going sour. So a year no problem and up to two years stored in a cool dry Dark place. Keep your juice out of the heat and sunlight ! That will ruin it in a matter of days!

What Breezy said.

Keeping oxygen away from it as far as is practical is good too.

For long-term storage, amber glass bottles filled to the brim in a freezer.

That way it'll last a bit longer. But shelf-life of juice round here has never been an issue Smile

RE: Can E-Juices Go Bad?
Many thanks for the info. I ask because I'm attempting to steep a house juice I bought from a local shop (it was made to order right then and there, tasted nothing like the sample, so I'm hoping steeping brings it up a bit,) but I accidentally left the lid off overnight, about 6 hours. Did I kill it? And when steeping do I just let it sit or do I need to shake it up from time to time?

RE: Can E-Juices Go Bad?
Some say you should expose juice to air to steep it. Some say shake it, some say don't shake it. Essentially, once it is mixed properly, farther exposure to air (Shaking is forcing air through it) may speed up the desired taste changes, or it may not.

I'm of the opinion that only time matters.

I reckon an overnight exposure to air may have taken a week or two off the (50-150 week) shelf life.

Lol! Ok, I think I can live with losing a week or so!!

And sunlight, how bad is THAT? Most of my local shops have their inventory, hundreds of bottles, sitting on shelves exposed to sunlight all day, every day. Not saying they're necessarily getting direct sunlight, but they're definitely not in a dark place throughout the day. Should I start asking for bottles from the BACK of the shelf?

RE: Can E-Juices Go Bad?
I would. Though I suspect it only has a month or two off its shelf life.
