Caffeine and vitamins in e-cigarette oil
Hi all,

Do you think a vape oil with added caffeine and vitamins would be an interesting idea and would you want to use oil with those things in it?

Also, what other nutrients would you like added (e.g. antioxidants, curcumin, etc) and what is your favourite flavour of vape oil?

I would love to hear both positive and negative comments on this topic.

Thanks,

Nilsy1975

Hi Nilsy - welcome to the forum. Firstly it is not oil - vaping oil would be extremely bad for you. It is made up from a mix of PG and VG which are not oil based. In my opinion it would be better leaving as it is because trying to control ingredients would be a nightmare. Caffeine is a stimulant the same as nicotine and one stimulant is enough. Any additions would have to be very small so any effect would be minimal anyway. This is just my opinion others no doubt will vary. My favourite flavours are fruit ones. How about you what do you vape.

Not oil. Inhaling oils is bad for you.

Therefore none of the oil soluble vitamins could be used.

More or less all the literature on curcumin has been withdrawn. Look up Bharat Aggarwal and what happened to his papers on the activity of curcumin. Random hit here. As it happens, I like turmeric and use a lot of it but the magical properties claimed for it are simply nonsense. It is at least water miscible so shouldn't endanger those inhaling it. However inhaling fresh air would be far better.

Caffeine is added to some liquids. But you'd want to use very high purity caffeine and only about 1-2mg/ml. Off the top of my head the recommended maximum dose that a doctor would prescribe is in the low hundreds of milligrams per day (About 200mg maximum per day). It will make people nauseous or vomit in excessive doses. It has a lethal dose of around 200mg/kg.

On the whole it isn't going to help anyone, just stick to stuff that tastes decent and has no harmful ingredients in it.

I missed part of your post Don,

Yes I do vape and am thinking of setting up my own business. I am exploring ideas that will give me an edge over my competitors.

Again, thank you for the feed back.

Hi Nilsy.
The best way to get an edge on the competition is to provide a consistent qualty product at a price that is affordable . A 120ml bottle of juice for 20 usd gives the conumer an great deal and still leave the manufacturer with a tidy profit .

Btw , Welcome to TVF

Why be normal when wierd is so much fun.

RE: Caffeine and vitamins in e-cigarette oil
There is a serious epidemic here in the States concerning vitamin E and THC oil pods sold on the street that are making people very ill and causing great concern among the regular vaping population. We do not actively discuss THC here but for raising awareness of this massive issue, it is justified.

The problem is not with vaping, but instead with *what* they are vaping. Oils are incredibly bad to vape, as well as vitamin E specifically. It's properties are such that when vaped, it settles in the lungs as oils and causes serious respiratory distress. Several people have even died as a result.

Reports are accurately coming out that it is the oils and not vaping itself that is the issue; however, it highlights in a very sobering way the dangers of vaping oils. It is never a good idea.

Do what Chuck says... put out a good, consistent product at a good price point and you will do better than if you try to reinvent the wheel.

Thank you all for the feedback. It was most helpful and I will drop that idea. It was a thought and I wanted to see what other people who vaped thought of it.
